    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection control device for an automatic transmission capable of surely preventing an oil temperature in the automatic transmission from rising.SOLUTION: When a vehicle speed is a first vehicle speed or more and an oil temperature is a first oil temperature or more, a shift stage changing means performs forcible upshift from a present shift stage and thereby the number of input rotation to an automatic transmission is lowered by the upshift, so that the oil temperature can be prevented from rising. After the forcible upshift is performed, downshift is regulated by a shift regulation means, automatic transmission and an operation of a driver and thereby the number of input rotation to the automatic transmission is increased by the downshift, so that the oil temperature can be prevented from rising again. When the oil temperature reaches a second oil temperature higher than the first oil temperature and a maximum vehicle speed is second vehicle speed higher than the first vehicle speed or more, a maximum vehicle speed regulation means regulates the maximum vehicle speed to a third vehicle speed, and thereby the oil temperature can be prevented from rising by the regulation of the maximum vehicle speed even when the present shift stage is the maximum shift stage and lowering of the oil temperature is not desired by the forcible upshift.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a mating engagement means from operating at an improper timing even if the rotational speed of a drive source or the speed of a vehicle changes.SOLUTION: When a reverse shift stage is established by coupling a reverse driven gear 33 to which a drive force of an engine is transmitted via a drag torque of a hydraulic clutch C4 and a selector S which is connected to a drive wheel and rotates together with an output shaft 15, a differential rotation of the reverse driven gear 33 and the selector S is determined on the basis of the rotational speed of the reverse driven gear 33 calculated from the rotational speed of an input shaft 13 and the rotational speed of the selector S calculated from the rotational speed of the output shaft 15. By prohibiting operations of the elector S when the differential rotation is larger than a predetermined value, generation of noise or vibration or an adverse effect to durability of the selector S due to non-smooth engagement of the selector S and the reverse driven gear 33 can be prevented.
