      SOLUTION: A shift range selected by operating a shift lever 12 by a driver is displayed by a liquid crystal unit 28 arranged at the inside of the shift knob 15 so as to be visually recognized by the driver. When the driver grips the shift knob 15 of the shift lever 12, there is a possibility that the static electricity discharged from the hand and the finger of the driver gives bad influence to the liquid crystal unit 28 and a liquid crystal drive circuit 36 at the connection side through conductors 22, 23 covering a part of the shift knob 15. However, since the conductors 22, 23 covering insulation bodies 26, 27 are grounded to a vehicle body through an earth line 35, the static electricity is made to escape to the vehicle body by the earth line, and the liquid crystal unit 28 and the liquid crystal drive circuit 36 at the connection side can be prevented from being destroyed by the static electricity.
