    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body structure which (1) shortens a filler pipe leading to a fuel tank and does not impair a collapsible function of a rear seat, and (2) does not impair the collapsing function of the rear seat even if equipped with a hybrid-type automobile battery.
      SOLUTION: According to the vehicle body structure, at least a part of the fuel tank 10 is disposed below a floor panel FP. The fuel tank 10 includes a thinned part 11 disposed below a foot rest on the floor panel FP, and a raised part 15 which is formed to be integral to the thinned part 11 and is raised under the rear seat S2 at the back side thereof. A housing space FS, in which the collapsed rear seat S2 can be housed, is formed between a front seat S1 and the raised part 15.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent outflow of fuel to a canister from a tank main body by making a float valve not released even if fuel level surface changes due to turn, acceleration and deceleration of a vehicle.
      SOLUTION: When a fuel level surface in a tank main body rises and gets close to a full tank level surface, fuel gets over an open upper end of an outer housing 23 and flows into a float housing at a stretch and floats a float 24 in an inner housing 22 to seat the same on a valve seat 14a. Consequently, fuel is prevented from flowing out of the canister via a charge passage 14. Since the float housing 21 has a labyrinth structure keeping communication between an outer housing 23 and the inner housing 2 with a communication hole 22d, fuel level surface in the inner housing goes down and prevents the float 24 from separating from the valve seat 14a, and fuel is surely prevented from flowing out of the canister via the charge passage 14 even if fuel level surface in the tank main body 11 changes due to turn, acceleration and deceleration of the vehicle under this condition.

SOLUTION: The oil feed pipe 2 with one end thereof connected to the fuel tank 1 and with an oil feed gun insertion part 4 provided on the other end thereof has a double pipe structure comprising a small diameter pipe 5 of the diameter substantially as large as that of the oil feed gun 3 and a large diameter pipe 2a to surround the small diameter pipe so as to form a flow passage 6 to allow the fuel overflowing from the small diameter pipe to flow as the oil is fed between the small diameter pipe and the large diameter pipe. The high flow rate of the fuel in the small diameter pipe can be kept when the fuel is fed, and the fuel in the entire fuel pipes can be sucked into the fuel tank by the merging with the fuel which overflows from the small diameter pipe and flows in the flow passage between the small diameter pipe and the large diameter pipe at an open end part on the tank side of the small diameter pipe.
