    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detecting system whereby a mobile phone having a GPS signal receiving function continuously detects its position almost without the need for making communication with a server so as to allow a user to continuously obtain position information without taking care of charging and to remarkably reduce a time required for second and succeeding position detection.
      SOLUTION: The mobile terminal makes communication with the sever for first position detection, acquires GPS assist information and base station position information from the server and reports a result of reception of a GPS signal received by using the acquired GPS assist information to the server, acquires the position information of the mobile terminal calculated by the server, and makes the position detection arithmetic operation by the mobile terminal itself by using a measurement result of a radio wave propagation time with peripheral base stations, the preceding position of the mobile terminal, and base station position information without the need for communication with the server and receiving the GPS signal for second and succeeding position detection.
