    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal that is equipped with a positioning operation mode in which it is kept low in power consumption and capable of making position retrieval for a longer time, and which is easily set and capable of improving the communication terminal in serviceability for users. SOLUTION: When a power supply key 14 is depressed down by a user, positioning setting information is read in through a setting storing unit 16. The positioning setting information contains setting information, such as a continuous maximum time for a positioning operation, an operation timing, etc, in the event that the power supply is turned off. A control unit 17 turns the power supply of a display unit 18, a speaker 19, a mike 20, etc. other than positioning function and a communication function that transmits a positioning result. In this state, a positioning unit 13 acquires position information as to the communication terminal 1. A radio communication unit 12 transmits positioning information as to the positioned communication terminal 1 to a prescribed monitoring server which controls positioning information on the communication terminal 1.
