These two components are mounted on a package 50 so that the optical element mounted face and the filter surface are substantially parallel to each other in the angle, with the optical elements being arranged so as to obliquely emit/receive a light with respect to the base 23. Consequently, the optical multiplexer/demultiplexer 3 can be mounted in parallel to the X-Y plane which facilitates machining of the package by using a lathe, and thus the cost can be reduced.
