    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additional sheet feeder which can be laid on or under another feeder regardless of whether it shoud be put above or below. SOLUTION: An upper connector and a lower connector are respectively provided at an additional sheet feeder, and a plurality of signal systems are provided respectively for the connectors. One signal system out of the signal systems of the upper connector is connected to a drive circuit which drives its own sheet feeder while the other signal systems are connected to the lower connector, and one out of the other signal systems is connected to a drive circuit of another additional sheet feeder laid below. As a result, the additional sheet feeder can be laid on or under another sheet feeder regardless of whether it should be put above or below. Further, an addition detecting signal for detecting connection of the additional sheet feeder is provided at each of the signal systems, and the number of tiers of the placed additional sheet feeders is detected and controlled therewith.

    • PURPOSE: To enable color matching correction for the color slippage according to the change of the drive force between each component due to the aging factor of a printer generated over a long range, by correcting the speed difference of a photosensitive body and an intermediate transfer body based on the information stored in an information storage means. CONSTITUTION: Based on the signal from a detection means 224 detecting a specified location which is always generated while an intermediate transfer body 221 rotates, the detection of rotation speed is arbitrarily executed and the convergence rotation speed of the intermediate transfer body 221 measured by using the rotation speed measuring means (270) of the intermediate transfer body 221 which is possible to be stopped is held in an information storage means (270) which is capable of holding the speed also when the power of a printer is turned off. By using the information in this information storage means (270), the difference of the convergence rotation speed for reference rotation speed of color slippage amount can be made clear. Further, if the information for a certain time is held, the degree of the color slippage within the convergence rotation speed for the long period of the printer can be recognized and can be adjusted.

    • PURPOSE:To make the pitch precision between rasters for each printing page more accurate, and form a favorable color image by a method wherein the rotating speed of a photosensitive element at the time of printing of a next page is adjusted, and the speed of an intermediate transfer body is always controlled at a specified speed. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate transfer drum 221 rotates in the direction shown by arrow while synchronizing with the surface of a photosensitive element by a driving force from a contact part 301 with a motor 219 for photosensitive element drum-driving as the driving source. On the inside of the intermediate transfer drum 221, a transfer device 222 to transfer a toner image on the surface of the photosensitive element to the surface of the intermediate transfer drum 221 is provided. A separatable cleaner 223 is provided on the surface of the intermediate transfer drum 221, and the toner which remains on the surface is removed. In addition, in order to generate a reference position signal TPS for the intermediate transfer drum 221, a reflection type photosensor 224 to read a reference position mark being formed on the outer peripheral surface of the intermediate transfer drum 221 is arranged.

In this case, the reference signal generating means 102 and 105 selectively generate the 1st reference signal DIV (synchronizing signal) corresponding to the print area and the 2nd reference signal DI (synchronizing signal) used as the reference to find the print area 12. Consequently, the laser printer is applicable to plural kinds of video signal generator each employing a different synchronizing signal system.

    • PURPOSE:To improve productivity, maintainability, and performance by uniting a driving device in the way that an inside panel and an outside panel on the side of a frame for a main body are made into a main frame. CONSTITUTION:The driving device is united by making the inside panel 15 and the outside panel 16 on the side of the frame 14 for the main body into the main frame. A driving motor 17 is fixed outside of the outside panel 16 and drives gear trains 19 and 23 placed between the panels of the both sides. A belt shaft 22 is belt-connected outside of the outside panel 16. Since the united driving device is considerably small compared to the frame 14 for the main body, the main frame comprised of two side panels 15 and 16 also becomes small-sized and lightweight accordingly; and this facilitates the handling of the device. Thus, mounting work of components, testing work after mounting, and adjusting work become easy. Since the gear trains 19 and 23, which required highly precise fabrication but has the flow frequency of their replacement are placed between the two side panels 15 and 16, the precise fabrication is secured. The belt 29 and the driving motor 17, both of which have high frequency of their replacement, are arranged outside of the outside panel 16, and thereby replacement work is easy.
