PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a paper feeding mechanism for feeding a nonstandard size paper. SOLUTION: In the case of recording on the nonstandard-size paper, a nonstandard-size recording paper is fed from a paper feeding cassette by an engine controller 4, and also, such a horizontal synchronizing signal and a vertical synchronizing signal are generated that are suitable for a recording control state with reference to the maximum-sized recording paper capable of recording by an electrophotographic process executing means while disregarding the detection information on the size of the recording paper stored in the paper feeding cassette. Data on an image to be recorded is transferred by a master controller 3 in accordance with the horizontal synchronizing signal and the vertical synchronizing signal.
