SOLUTION: The plasma display device 100 includes a display casing 110 equipped with a display panel 120, and a holding casing 170 for holding the one side and the lower part of the display casing. The display panel includes an XY connection section for allowing a Y-electrode group and an X-electrode group to be connected on one side, and an A-connection section for allowing an A-electrode group to be connected on the lower part. A lower casing 154 of the holding casing 170 includes a Y-driving section for applying a maintaining discharging pulse to the Y-electrode group, an X-driving section for applying a maintaining discharging pulse to the X-electrode group, and an A-driving section for feeding data pulses and a driving voltage to the A-electrode group. A side casing 153 of the holding casing includes an XY processing section for connecting the X-driving section and the Y-driving section to the display panel and independently applying a scan pulse to each line, and the front surface of the display panel is covered with a radiowave shielding sheet 130 and the backside is covered with a backside panel 150 of a conductive member.
