    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal projector capable of effectively restraining noise caused in a cooling means, and made compact and easily handled when it is not used.
      SOLUTION: A case 3 can move with respect to a device main body 2 incorporating a projection means and the cooling means. when the liquid crystal projector 1 is not used, the case 3 houses the main body 2 as shown by (b), whereby the projector 1 is made compact, suction holes 16a and 16b provided on the main body 2 are covered with the case 3, and ventilating hole for discharging 10 provided on the case 3 is covered with the main body 2. When the projector 1 is used, a part of the main body 2 projects from the case 3 as shown by (a), whereby the suction holes 16a and 16b are made open, the ventilating hole 10 is made open, and also a distance from a ventilating fan 28 gets long so as to reduce influence by the noise emitted from the ventilating hole 10.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture display device which makes it possible to prevent that a picture display part comes into contact with a stand, the surface on which the picture display device is disposed, or the like when the picture display part is subjected to a pivot turn and makes it possible to lower the height of the picture display part and the whole picture display device in order to prevent the contact. SOLUTION: This picture display device is provided with a movable bracket 32 which is attached to the picture display part 1 which can display a picture, and a tilt and pivot mechanism which has a fixed bracket 31 which is attached to the stand 2 mounted on a mounting surface and allows the picture display part 1 to be subjected to the tilt turn with a rotating shaft 33 disposed on the fixed bracket 31 as an axis and, at the same time, and to be subjected to the pivot turn. In addition, this device is provided with a blocking mechanism part which does not allow the picture display part 1 to be subjected to the pivot turn unless the picture display part 1 is subjected to the tilt turn up to a prescribed set tilt angle. In one embodiment, the blocking mechanism part has a fixed pawl part 31a disposed on the fixed bracket 31 and a movable pawl part 32a disposed on the movable bracket 32, and blocks the pivot turn because the movable pawl part 32a opposes the fixed pawl part 31a up to the prescribed set tile angle.
