    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal projector which takes the higher efficiency of heat radiation, lower cost, smaller size and remedy against dust of a liquid crystal display element into consideration.
      SOLUTION: Sheets of transparent glass having a thickness to hardly permit focusing of dust on a screen are respectively fixed and arranged on the incident surface side and exit surface side of an image display element. The liquid crystal projector which reduces the deterioration of image quality by the dust is made possible and the promotion of the heat radiating effect of the image display element is made possible by using the image display element of such configuration.

    • PURPOSE:To decrease the number of lens elements and to well correct various aberrations at the time of focusing by dividing a master lens group to a 1st lens group and a 2nd lens group, constituting the 2nd lens group movably on the optical axis and using this lens for focusing. CONSTITUTION:The master lens group IV is constituted of the two lens groups IV1, IV2. The lens group IV1 on the object side and the lens group IV2 on the image plane VI side are respectively constituted of 3 elements of lenses and, therefore, the master lens group is constituted of 6 elements of the lenses in total. The lens group IV2 is of the triplet configuration of convex, concave and convex and has the lens arrangement suitable for correction of various aberrations. The lens group IV1 has the effect of making the ray focused at the center of the image plane VI incident to the lens group IV2 in nearly parallel with the optical axis. The incident angle and height of the rays to this lens group IV2 are maintained nearly constant even if the lens group IV2 is moved on the optical axis for the purpose of focusing. The fluctuation in aberrations is thus decreased to the time of focusing. The various aberrations over the entire part of the zoom lens are thus well corrected over the entire focusing range by the master lens group IV in this way.
