    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sodium secondary battery module that is preferable for use for an electric power storage device and an electric vehicle or the like.
      SOLUTION: The sodium secondary battery module uses a sodium secondary battery which includes a negative pole chamber that holds sodium, a positive pole chamber that holds a positive pole active material, and a cap tube for a solid electrolyte that separates the negative pole chamber from the positive pole chamber. The sodium secondary battery is laterally placed in a horizontal direction or an oblique direction and held in a holding container 101, then a plurality of holding containers are arranged perpendicularly or vertically in a heat insulating vessel 20. A flat portion is provided at least at a part of upper/lower and/or right/left portions of the holding containers. A plurality of the holding containers arranged perpendicularly in the heat insulating vessel are mutually supported by a part of upper/lower portions of the holding containers where the flat portion is provided, and/or a plurality of the holding containers arranged horizontally in the heat insulating vessel are mutually supported by a part of right/left portions where the flat portion is provided, by which a density and efficiency of energy of the module are improved, movement of the holding containers held in the heat insulating vessel caused by vibrations and earthquakes or the like is prevented, and the module of higher mounting stability is obtained for the sodium secondary battery held in the holding containers.

The secondary sodium battery is characterized with placing the solid electrolyte bag pipe 1 in a horizontal direction or a diagonal direction, installing to laminate carbon fiber mat in an axis direction of the solid electrolyte bag pipe 1 as a porous conductive material 12 between a side surface of the solid electrolyte bag pipe 1 in the positive pole chamber 5 and a positive pole bath 3 comprising the positive pole chamber 5, or a current collector 11 provided in the positive pole chamber 5.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sodium sulfur batter that is suited for a power storage apparatus, an electric automobile and the like, can improve battery efficiency and increase a capacity, and is mechanically reliable. SOLUTION: In the sodium sulfur battery, liquid sodium 7 is accommodated in a negative electrode chamber 4 composed of the inside of a solid electrolyte bag pipe 1 and a negative electrode container 2. A positive electrode active substance 14 composed of sulfur or/and sodium polysulfide is accommodated in a positive electrode chamber 5 composed of the outside of the solid electrolyte bag pipe and a positive electrode container 3. A collector 11 in a cylindrical shape or the like is provided along the outside of the solid electrolyte bag pipe. Then, a porous conductive material 12 or/and a porous material 13 is filled into the gap between the collector and the solid electrolyte bag pipe. In the sodium sulfur battery, the solid electrolyte bag pipe is inclined in a horizontal direction or in an oblique direction, and the side lower section or/and the side upper section of the collector and the positive electrode container are brought into contact or joined with each other.
