    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device in which a sealing of a vacuum panel composed of a rear substrate, a front substrate and a supporting body can be realized in a low temperature and selection freedom of an electron source material, an electrode wiring material or the like can be widened.

      SOLUTION: Signal wires 13 intersect with scanning wires 15, and an electron emitting element 16 is formed in an opening recessed part of each intersecting scanning wire 15. An upper electrode 51 of the electron emitting element 16 is connected to the adjacent scanning wire (the upper scanning wire in fig.) through a power-feed narrow part 52. An inverse tapered non-conductive piece 26 and a forward tapered conductive piece 66 are formed on the scanning wire 15, and the scanning wire 15 and the electron emitting element 16 are connected to each other by the conductive piece 66 and a forward tapered part 65. The upper electrode 51 and the power-feed narrow part 52 are formed by an upper electrode film 50 deposited on the whole surface of a display region.

      SOLUTION: A spacer SPC on a scanning line sL is arranged as a single member that does not have a divided portion, and its both end portions are positioned beyond both sides of the left and right direction (x direction) of a display area AR configured by two dimensional arrangement of the electron source and the phosphor. A positive electrode AD is formed by covering the display area with a width exceeding the width in the extending direction of the scanning line sL of the display area AR. Both ends in the left and right direction (x direction) of the spacer SPC is arranged in a retracted position compared to the width of the positive electrode AD. In the left and right direction, the width of the display area AR is less than the width of the spacer SPC which is less than the width of the positive electrode AD. The phosphor is applied to a striped black matrix aperture extending in the vertical direction (y direction), in which the width of the phosphor pattern plus the width of the display area AR is less than the width of the space SPC which is less than the width of the positive electrode AD.
