      SOLUTION: The image forming device includes a cathode substrate provided with an electron source, an anode substrate provided with a phosphor for emitting light when receiving electrons emitted from the electron source, and the spacer arranged between the cathode substrate and anode substrate for supporting both of the substrates. The spacer comprises a glass substrate, a first metallic oxide thin film directly formed on a side surface of the glass substrate and exhibiting semiconductor like electrical conductivity, a second metallic oxide thin film formed outside the first metallic oxide thin film and exhibiting metallic electrical conductivity, and a third metallic oxide thin film formed outside the second metallic oxide thin film and exhibiting semiconductor-like electrical conductivity.
