    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wall surface surveying device 1 that can obtain precise depth information and detects a substance 3 which is embedded in a substrate 2; and also to provide a method that the device uses. SOLUTION: The wall surface surveying device 1 is equipped with: a detection aerial 5 that applies a broad-band/high-frequency AC electric field 9 with a measurement frequency f M to the substrate 2; a measurement system 6 that measures delay interaction between the aerial 5 and the substance 3 in an AC electric filed 9 which is connected to the aerial 5; and a calculating means 7 that detects a substance 3 from a measured signal to specify depth information thereof. At least one additional voltage plate 11 is provided in a dielectric constant measurement means 8 for measuring a a signal for dielectric constant measurement of the substrate at a frequency f P lower than the measured frequency.
