SOLUTION: This engine starting device 1 comprises a starting motor 3 rotated in starting the engine, a wedge roller type decelerating mechanism 10 that outputs rotation of the starting motor 3 from an output shaft 19 in a decelerated state of the rotation and breaks transmission of the rotation between the starting motor 3 and the output shaft 19 when the rotation speed of the output shaft 19 becomes higher than that after the deceleration, a pinion gear 4 that is disposed on the output shaft 19 integrally rotatably and disposed movably in the axial direction of the output shaft 19 between an engaging position engaging with a ring gear 23 and a non-engaging position that does not engage with it, and a magnet switch 5 for driving the pinion gear 4 to the engaging position in starting the engine or to the non-engaging position after starting the engine.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine starter wherein seizure or wear of a sliding portion between a pinion gear, an overrunning clutch and a rotor shaft is prevented for a long time and impact is reduced when the pinion gear is axially engaged with or disengaged from a ring gear on a crank shaft side of an engine. SOLUTION: When the pinion gear 3 is operated for sliding in a direction of engagement with the ring gear RG of a flywheel FH on the crank shaft side, an orifice 33A gives flow resistance to oil flowing through an oil passage 2A according to a volume change of a second oil chamber 28. This reduces a sliding speed of the pinion gear 3, and pinion gear smoothly engages with the ring gear RG in an axial direction. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce tensile force applied to a casing of an axial piston machine. SOLUTION: An axial piston pump 24 provided with a pump shaft 10, a cylinder 28, a piston 30 and a swash plate 32 is housed inside first and second half cases 42 and 43 connected to a valve plate 27 by means of a bolt 44. Hydraulic reaction applied to the cylinder 28 is transmitted to the second half case 43 through the valve plate 27. Hydraulic reaction applied to the piston 30 is transmitted to the first half case 42 through the swash plate 32. Tensile force is thus applied to the bolt 44. A helical gear 50 provided on the pump shaft 10 is meshed with the helical gear 49 supported on the valve plate 27, so that rightwise thrust force is generated on the pump shaft 10. This thrust force is transmitted to the first half case 42 from a ball bearing 46 for cancelling the tensile force.

The ring gear 9 and the pinion gear 8 are formed of helical gears. The twisting directions of teeth of both the gears 8 and 9 are set so that a jumping directional thrust acts on the pinion gear 8 in the state where the pinion gear 8 drives the ring gear 9.
