    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relief valve which fulfills reliable defoaming function by adapting to an increase in discharged oil volume from an outlet and an increase in discharge pressure while avoiding an increase in the size of the skirt shape.
      SOLUTION: This relief valve comprises a cylindrical valve housing fitted to an engine body continuously with a relief valve and having an outlet at the axial intermediate portion, a valve element slidably fitted to the valve housing by communicating a relief passage with the outlet when the hydraulic pressure in the relief passage is increased to a predetermined one or above, and a skirt having an upper end above the outlet and fixed to the valve housing to guide the oil discharged from the outlet to the lower side. An annular recessed part 54 is formed in the intermediate outer periphery of the valve housing 44 on the underside of the outlet 43.

A drive sprocket 101 and a drive sprocket 102 are attached to a main shaft 53 of a transmission M and a shaft end part 81a of a drive shaft 81 of the oil pump 80 respectively. The projecting walls 112, 122 and mating surfaces 113, 123 include overlapping parts 122a, 123a overlapping the driven sprocket 102 in a side view, and whole body of the shaft end part 81a and remaining part of the driven sprocket 102 are exposed in the opening 130.
