    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the intake air charging efficiency of a two-cycle internal combustion engine and improve output by intercepting heat transmitted from a transmission chamber to a crank chamber to prevent a temperature rise of intake air in the crank chamber, and to improve durability of a transmission mechanism by stabilizing the temperature round the transmission chamber. SOLUTION: Cooling water passages 43, 44 are provided to enclose the crank chambers 6, 7 of the internal combustion engine 1 integrally having the transmission chamber 9 in the rear of the crank chambers 6, 7. The crank chambers 6, 7 are formed as crank chambers for a two-cycle internal combustion engine for primary compressing air-fuel mixture. A pair of parallel crankshafts 22, 25 are horizontally placed in the lateral direction, a cooling air introduction port is provided in front of the crankshafts 22, 25, a cooling air discharge port is provided in the rear thereof, and a cooling air passage for passing cooling air is provided extending from the cooling air introduction port toward the cooling air discharge port.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an improved stability by arranging a clutch and a mission casing on one side of an engine, and by arranging engine accessories and a drive system thereof on the other side of the engine so as to set the gravita tional center of the engine system on the center line of a vehicle body. CONSTITUTION:In an motorcycle on which a large engine 10 such as a V-shape four-cylinder engine is mounted, the center line of a crank shaft 19 of the engine 10 is set on the center line of a vehicle body, and a main clutch and a mission casing are arranged on one side of the crankshaft 19. Further, on the other side thereof, an accessory drive system including a starter motor 20 and a generator is arranged. Accordingly, even though the distance between the tops of cylinders arranged in a V-like pattern becomes longer, the engine 10 can be installed on the front part of a frame without increasing the overall length of the vehicle body. Further, since the drive transmission unit of the engine 10 and the engine accessories are arranged on both sides of the engine 10, respectively, it is possible to prevent the height of the engine from increasing, and to easily balance the weights on both sides.

    • PURPOSE:To lower the center of gravity of a vehicle by arranging an output shaft coupled with the rear wheel to transmit the power through a transmission group to the rear wheel at the side of the crankshaft above the spindle. CONSTITUTION:A spindle 28 is arranged below a crankshaft 15 at the right hand of the body while a counter shaft 29 is arranged at obliquely upper right side and an output shaft 20 is arranged immediately thereabove. Consequently, the output shaft 20 is arranged at approximately same height as the crankshaft 15 at the side thereof, and a thrust shaft coupled with the output shaft 20 is extended rearward from a relatively high position of an engine 14. When the engine 14 is fixed to the body with the thrust shaft being held at same height as the center of the rear wheel 9, the portion of the engine 14 lower than the output shaft 20 is positioned lower than a horizontal face including the center of the rear wheel 9. Consequently, the entirety of the engine 14 can be fixed at a low position with respect to the body resulting in lowering of the center of gravity of vehicle.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endless transmitter tensioner device with a means for reducing impact reaction given by the endless transmitter, comprising a body case, a rod holder slidably fitted through the body case, a rod member slidably fitted through the rod holder and resiliently energized by an elastic member provided between the rod holder and itself, and a locking means provided between the rod holder and the rod member for preventing the push-back of the rod member.
      SOLUTION: The means reduces push-in force on the rod member when pushed in with impact reaction given by the endless transmitter, while applying a time lag to the locking means before locking it.
