    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove vibration generated in a tilted direction relative to the axis of a cylinder according to the reciprocating motion of the piston of a multi-link type variable compression ratio engine.
      SOLUTION: Even if the direction of the secondary vibration generated according to the reciprocating motion of the piston of the multi-link type variable compression ratio engine E is tilted relative to the axis L2 of the cylinder, the secondary vibration can be effectively removed by tilting the direction of an excitation force (as shown by an arrow) generated from a secondary balancer device 43 so that it matches the direction of the secondary vibration. The secondary balancer device 43 is formed by supporting balancer weights 44a and 45a on a pair of balancer shafts 44 and 45 rotating in directions reverse to each other. By shifting the phases of these balancer weights 44a and 45a from each other, the direction of the generated excitation force can be tilted so that it matches the direction of the secondary vibration of the engine E.

    • PURPOSE:To completely sent an oil pressure opening valve even if jumping of an engine valve is generated, and prevent operation oil temperature from increasing excessively by opening the valve while the opening timing is controlled at all operation ranges of an engine. CONSTITUTION:An oil pressure chamber 15 is provided between a piston 16 of a cam side interlocked with and connected to a valve system cam 8 and a piston 13 of a valve side interlocked with and connected to an engine valve 4 so as to connect an oil pressure opening valve 20 in the oil pressure chamber 20. In a control means C, the oil pressure opening valve 20 is opened while the opening/closing timing is controlled at all operation ranges of an engine. Since the pressure oil corresponding to the operation oil quantity supplied to the oil pressure chamber 15 by jumping of the engine valve 4 is opened by opening the oil pressure opening valve 20. Complete seating of the engine valve 4 is enabled. Since part of operation oil in the oil pressure chamber 15 is ex changed, excessine increase in temperature of the operation oil is prevented.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake manifold with which noise associated with engine operation is hard to propagate to a passenger while inhibiting increase in an intake temperature and a manufacturing cost or the like.SOLUTION: An engine 1 is transverse-mounted on a front part of a vehicle body of an automobile 2 with its inlet side disposed backward. The intake manifold 10 is fastened in a forwardly tilting posture on a region rightward (closer to a driver's seat 4) from a center line CL of the vehicle body on an inlet port sidewall face 3a of a cylinder head 3. A sound insulation cover 15 is fastened on a rear face of a branch pipe part 13 of the intake manifold 10. The sound insulation cover 15 has a vertical size of a right part (part closer to the driver's seat 4) specified to be longer than the vertical size of a left part (part closer to the center line CL of the vehicle body), whereby an area of the right part is significantly larger than an area of the left part.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption of a solenoid valve while maintaining suction responsiveness of an oil pressure release solenoid valve by detecting the operating condition of an engine, and controlling a valve system control device according to operating condition by means a plurality of electrification duty ratios. CONSTITUTION:A hydraulic driving valve system unit 15 is provided above the cylinder head 20 of each cylinder of an engine, and an intake valve 24 is driven by a hydraulic driving mechanism 30 which is composed of an oil pressure generating part 31 and a valve operating part 32. An oil pressure release mechanism 50 is provided to be communicable with the hydraulic driving mechanism 30, and an oil pressure release valve 54 and an accumulator 55 are arranged. The oil pressure release valve 54 is a solenoid valve driven by a solenoid 73, and operating condition of the engine is inputted from various kinds of sensors to an electric control unit so as to close the oil pressure release valve 54 by excitation of the solenoid 73 caused by the control signal. The electrification duty ratio of the solenoid valve is made variable, and the ratio is set to 100% until driving current reaches a prescribed value. After the driving current reaches thereto, the ratio is reduced so as to be an optimal value according to operating condition. It is thus possible to reduce a power consumption of the solenoid valve.
