摘要： PURPOSE:To provide precise processing and save energy in processing by holding load cells pinched between a bed and a chuck to grip a work to be processed, sensing the repulsive force during machining through electric charges, converting into voltage and interlocking with a numerical control device. CONSTITUTION:A steel pipe as work to be processed W is gripped by pawls of a rigid chuck 13 by actuating a cylinder device, and is located roughly. A column 2 placed on a bed 1 is advanced by a Z-axis feeding motor 3, and a cutter head 7 gripped by a head clamping chuck 6 of spindle 4 is put in rotation. The repulsive force to machining to be generated when the outside surface of the work W is processed, is sensed in the form of electric charges by load cells 15, 15' pinched between the rigid chuck 13 and bed 1, wherein the load cell 15 serves for the Z direction and the one 15' for the rotational direction. The electric charges are converted into voltage change to serve monitoring of the machining condition, and the voltage change is judged to a certain extent and interlocked with a numerical control device to accomplish automatic processing.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the working efficiency and safety of a machine tool by changing automatically a cutter head set with a tool in a stocker for a cutter head on a chuck, and machining a workpiece through the relative linear motion thereof from the chuck. CONSTITUTION:Once the shape and the machining process of a workpiece 4 has been decided, a cutter head 3 is drawn out from a stocker by an automatic cutter head exchanger and inserted in a chuck 1. Then,a push rod 216 for a main spindle 2 advances and the forward end of the workpiece 4 comes in contact with a flange plate 222 for the support of the workpiece 4. Thereafter, the oil passage 105 of a cylinder block 103 is fed with pressurized oil, thereby moving a piston part 111 to the left side and a master jaw 109 toward the center. As a result, a piston head 3 is held and secured by a retaining part 109b. On the other had, once a piston 113 has been pushed down to insert a pin in a long-grooved cam 305a at a proper position,and the cutter head 3 is made to turn by the main spindle 2, the workpiece 4 is held by a centering chuck jaw 5 and fed into a space within the internal cylinder 101 of the chuck 1 for machining to a predetermined outer diameter.

摘要： PURPOSE:To generate a flow of cut chips in a separating direction for every cutting edge and to increase a tool life, by providing a primary cutting edge and a secondary cutting edge while the secondary cutting edge, which forms an obtuse angle coming into contact with said primary cutting edge, in a general forming tool and forming each cutting edge to be tilted by a different twist angle with respect to the axial line. CONSTITUTION:A general forming tool 13 comprises a primary cutting edge 1 and a secondary cutting edge 2 forming an obtuse angle. The primary cutting edge 1 is arranged so as to provide a suitable twist angle theta1 with respect to the axial line 12 of a fixed cylindrical member. The secondary cutting edge 2 is tilted by a twist angle theta2 larger than the above described twist angle theta1. The tool 13 is turned along the periphery of a member 5, and if the member 5 is machined, outflow directions 6'', 7'' of cut chips mutually separating are generated, obtaining a smooth flow with no tangle while decreasing also generation of chattering, and a life of the tool can be extended.

The electric charges are converted into change of voltage to serve monitoring of the machining condition. This enables machining without requiring precise location.
