摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a sodium-sulfur battery excellent in long-term reliability by improving sodium resistance and adhesive strength of the adhesive layer when a ceramic pipe of solid electrolyte and a ceramic ring of an insulator used in the sodium-sulfur battery are adhered to each other. CONSTITUTION:An adhesive layer 3 between a ceramic pipe l of solid electrolyte and a ceramic ring 2 of an insulator is formed at 1200 deg.C or less, and is composed of cklumino silicate glass or glass ceramics containing at least aluminium oxide of 20 to 45wt.% in Al2O3 conversion and silicon oxide of 30 to 55wt.% in SiO2 conversion. It is preferable to contain rare earth oxide of Er or Pr in the composition. Preferably, a thickness of the adhesive layer 3 is set not more than 60mum, and a bubble residual quantity in the adhesive layer is set less than 10vol%. Thereby, sodium resistance and adhesive strength of the adhesive layer 3 can be improved, and long-term reliability of a sodium-sulfur battery can be improved.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of a ceramic filer as a dedusting means for coal thermal power by preventing the breaking of the ceramic caused by thermal shock. SOLUTION: A porous ceramic 1 is combined with a ceramic heating element 2. An unburned carbon deposited on the filtering surface 3 of a ceramic filter is burnt by generating the heat with the heating element to mitigate the thermal shock at the time of backward washing. At the same time, the strength of the ceramic filter is improved by being combined with the heating element. The breaking of the ceramic is known by measuring the electric resistance of the ceramic filter heating element 2.

摘要： PURPOSE: To obtain a solid electrolyte having improved mechanical properties without deteriorating satisfactory ionic conductivity peculiar to a β-alumina sintered compact. CONSTITUTION: Lanthanide oxide particles are dispersed in a β-alumina sintered compact to obtain the objective solid electrolyte. The lanthanoid oxide is preferably erbium oxide or praseodymium oxide. The content of the lanthanoid oxide particles is preferably 0.1-5wt.% [expressed in terms of Ln2 O3 (Ln is a lanthanoid)] and especially 0.3-2wt.% content is effective. The mechanical properties of the solid electrolyte can be improved without deteriorating the electrical characteristics and the reliability and performance of a cell can also be improved.

CONSTITUTION:A bland of (A) as a matrix material, a beta-Al2O3-based ionically conductive substance and (B) as a reinforcing material, 5-20wt.% of fibers 0.5-10%mum in single fiber diameter and 5-10 in aspect ratio, inert to the component A is mixed with a solvent and, if needed, a caking material to produce a slurry. This slurry is spray-dried to effect granulation into granular powder 20-100mum in particle diameter. The granular powder is then molded and sintered to obtain the objective solid electrolyte.
