    • PURPOSE:To execute a fusion splicing of an optical fiber at an arbitrary place by separating an optical fiber aligning member from a fusion splicing machine body having a pair of discharge electrodes, and heating and fusing the optical fiber on a printed board. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber aligning member 6 having an optical fiber arranging groove 7, and also, having an air-gap 8 formed in the vicinity of an optical fiber splicing part so as not to obstruct an arc generated by a pair of discharge electrode 5 is separated from a fusion splicing machine body having a pair of discharge electrodes 5. Subsequently, the aligning member 5 is installed so that a hole 9 whose dimension is almost the same as the air gap 8 of the aligning member 5, and the air-gap 8 coincide, and in case the eccentricity of an optical fiber core is large, a rotating body 12 provided on the tip of an optical fiber clamper 11 is rotated, by which an optical fiber is rotated and the optical fiber 3 is aligned. Also, a pair of discharge electrodes are placed at a position which is vertical to a printed board 4 and inserts and holds a connecting point of the optical fiber 3, and the optical fiber 3 is heated and fused. In such a way, a fusion splicing of the optical fiber can be executed at an arbitrary position on the printed board 4.

    • PURPOSE:To efficiently execute a measuring work, etc., of a plug connection loss by providing a body, a lens whose shaft part and axis are the same and which has been fixed in a through-hole pierced on the body, and a connecting means for connecting the body so as to be freely attachable and detachable to and from an optical fiber connector. CONSTITUTION:On one end part of a body 51 of a receptacle 50, a connecting part 52 consisting of a flange is provided, and this connecting part 52 can be connected so as to be freely attachable and detachable to and from a photodetector 22 consisting of a light detector. On the other end of the body 51, a shaft part 53 whose outside diameter is the same dimension as the outside diameter of a ferrule 7. A lens 55 which has been inserted into a through-hole 54 of the body 51 is fixed by injecting an adhesive agent into a hole which has been provided on the shaft part 53, or a means of soldering, etc. A holder 61 is inserted into a tube shaft part 43 of a plug-in optical connector 41, and also, the ferrule 7 is inserted into a fastening member 62. In this way, by interposing the receptacle 50 provided with the fastening member 62, the male type plug-in optical connector 41 can be connected easily to the photodetector 22 being a detector, etc.
