Both surfaces of this optical disk 20, i.e. one surface of the substrate 21a and one surface of the coating layer 23 are flat and the optical disk 20 is molded to the approximately uniform thickness exclusive of the non-information recording part of the peripheral edge part and central part. The simultaneous and independent reproduction of the information signals by the phase pits and the information signals recorded on the magnetic recording film is executed by single light beam in this way and the ROM and RAM coexisting optical disk which is doubled in the recording density of the information signals and the transfer speed of the reproduction signals is thus obtd.

CONSTITUTION:A polarizing plate 101 and an optical detector 102 are provided inside an air-core coil 103 and the transmissivity of the polarizing plate 101 is changed according to the polarizing direction of incident beam. When such a magneto-optical signal detection head 100 is arranged in the upper part of a disk 20, a second information signal can be detected from the output signal of the detector 102. Next, when the information signal is recorded, the current of the coil 103 is modulated by a modulator 206 and the magnetic field perpendicular to the surface of the disk 20 is modulated. The optical intensity of the incident beam for recording is fixed to several times to ten times larger value in comparison with that for reading. Thus, the second information signal can be overwritten as a magneto-optical signal reading the first information signal on the recording track of the first information signal by the indented pits of the optical disk and can be read simultaneously.

The magnetic field by the permanent magnet 4 is impressed on the magneto-optical disk 2 through the yoke 3, and when the permanent magnet 4 reaches a target position at the time of the recording or erasing operation, the magnetic fields necessary for the recording or erasing operation is impressed on the magneto-optical disk 2. Thus, conduction during the recording or erasing operation becomes unnecessary and the power consumption is reduced.

CONSTITUTION:A function generating circuit 3 reads a reference control signal (g) written in an address designated by an address control signal (f) to input to the CPU 4 of a microcomputer 6. The output of a temperature sensor 11 disposed in the coil 12 of the linear motor 14 is inputted to the CPU 4 through an A/D converter 18 and the microcomputer 6 stores a temperature immediately before the start of the retrieval in a memory function 5 according to a command for starting the retrieval. Then, the microcomputer 6 converts the signal (g) to a prescribed function by the CPU 4 based on a temperature signal immediately before the start of the retrieval stored in the function 5 and outputs the driving control signal (h) of the motor 14. The signal (h) is supplied to the coil 12 of the motor 14 through a D/A converter 7 and a driving circuit 8 to execute a retrieving operation. According to a constitution, the signal (h) considering the temperature of the coil 12 is obtained, so that the damage of the coil 12 due to the heating of the coil 12 is prevented.
