摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To high speedily and smoothly send a video signal to a monitor TV without making the user feel a sense of incongruity by discriminating whether recorded information is digital recording to analog recording even in the midst of reproduction at the time of reproducing a magnetic tape recorded with an analog signal and a digital information signal in coexistence. SOLUTION: When digital recording is changed into analog recording at a traveling speed V2 during reproduction, and hence when reproducing of an analog video signal is judged by an analog video signal detecting circuit 25 in the midst of the reproduction, an analog video signal changeover switch 24 and an analog sound signal changeover switch 34 are changed over to the side of 'A'. Consequently, the analog video and sound signals reproduced from the magnetic tape and processed by an analog video signal processing circuit 21 and an analog sound signal processing circuit 31 are outputted to the monitor TV 300.

Further, a function is provided to automatically judge whether signal is recorded in digital or in analog according to the measurement result of the error rate. As a result, when it is judged that digital recording is not possible based on the measurement result of the error rate of a cassette tape 4, digital recording is switched to analog recording, thus preventing malfunction where an image and an audio that a user requires cannot be recorded.

In such a case, the analog sound signal outputted from a single signal generation circuit 18 is recorded in an audio track part on the magnetic tape 4 by the audio signal through a switching circuit 17 and a fixed head 8 with the control of a system control circuit 15. The digital signal is reproduced as noise and sound guide from the audio track part is reproduced and erroneous deletion is prevented at the time of reproduction by analog VCR.

SOLUTION: A detecting circuit 4 detects an emergency situation such as when a theft or a robbery takes place, when a power source is cut off or the like. For example, the detecting circuit is a sensor circuit for sensing shocks or vibrations, a circuit for detecting that a terminal apparatus 1 is raised on purpose, or a circuit for detecting that the power source of the terminal apparatus is cut off. A signal detected at the detecting circuit 4 is input to a control circuit 5. Information of a portable type recording medium 2 is read out by a write/read circuit 3 and transferred concurrently to another terminal apparatus 7 via a communication driver circuit 6, so that the information is backed up for a case of emergency. After this or simultaneously with this, information held by the portable type recording medium 2 is erased. It is possible to prevent a third party from using the medium by locking the medium so that the information cannot be rewritten or taken outside.
