摘要： PURPOSE: To provide a High Vision video disk reproduction display system in which special reproduction such as still and frame-by-frame is realized without provision of a frame memory for special reproduction. CONSTITUTION: In the MUSE system High Vision video disk reproduction display system, a VDP 15 is provided with a transmission control signal switching circuit 11 and a signal selection circuit 12, and a MUSE decoder 20 for a High Vision receiver is provided with a freeze control circuit 23 freezing a frame memory 24 for inter-frame interpolation processing depending on a control signal detected by a control detection circuit 22. In the case of special reproduction, a MUSE signal obtained by adding still information to a transmission control signal is led to the MUSE decoder 20 to control freezing. Then a freeze image in the frame memory 24 of the MUSE decoder 20 is displayed in the still reproduction to eliminated the need for a special reproduction frame memory for the VDP 15.

摘要： PURPOSE: To perform video display with less incompatibility feeling by performing compression and expansion processings in a horizontal direction by nonlinear characteristics after MUSE-NTSC conversion. CONSTITUTION: The nonlinear time base conversion means 104 of an MUSE- NTSC conversion means 102 performs the compression and expansion processings in the horizontal direction to NTSC video signals for which the High-Vision signals of an MUSE system are decoded and converted to the scanning line number and aspect ratio of an NTSC system by using a 'squeeze mode' by the nonlinear characteristics. An identification signal addition means 105 adds prescribed identification signals to the NTSC video signals and leads them to a video output terminal 112 or a display processing means 107. In such a manner, by performing a nonlinear time base conversion processing for maintaining roundness near a center in a horizontal direction and performing compression near both sides after the MUSE-NTSC conversion, the video display with less incompatibility feeling at the time of VTR recording output and viewing it by a TV now in use is made possible.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately and clearly display video image indicated by the video signal of an optional transmission system on the display of an optional screen system. SOLUTION: The PLL 3 and controller 7 of this video signal processor 9 identify the transmission system of the video signals B inputted from a terminal 1 by identification signals C received by the terminal 4. The PLL 3 uses a frequency division ratio suitable for the identified transmission system of the video signals B and frequency-divides a reference frequency for performing phase comparison with the video signals B. Thus, an optimum sampling frequency is supplied to an A/D converter 2. The controller 7 decides the vertical magnification rate of a vertical magnification circuit 5 and the horizontal magnification rate of a horizontal magnification circuit 6 from the screen system of the display 8 and the identified transmission system of the video signals B. As a result, the vertical magnification circuit 5 and the horizontal magnification circuit 6 execute a vertical magnification processing and a horizontal magnification processing for offsetting the difference of the aspect ratios of the display 8 and the video signals B to the video B.

An image conversion means 2 calculates No of an interpolation coefficient with No=1-Mo, Me=Mo+ S2 -[Mo+S2 ] and Ne=1-Me (where S2 : the 2nd offset value) and also calculates the interpolation coefficients Me and Ne for the even-nunbered fields. Then the means 2 multiplies the video signals of two input scanning lines by an interpolation coefficient which is equivalent to a weighting coefficient to add these signals and produces the video signals of a single sequential scanning line.

The picture element converting circuits 104, 105 perform the conversion (enlargement) of the picture element in accordance with the conversion mode respectively determined corresponding to the number of picture elements of a display unit 109, on the basis of the result of the identification of the input signal identifying circuit 106.

Thus, an output applying nonlinear conversion to the input signal is obtained. In this case, the control circuit 7 controls the coring value, the gradation and the upper limit to set the nonlinear conversion characteristic to be an optimum characteristic.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly and sharply display an image that a video signal of an arbitrary transmission system represents on a display of an arbitrary screen system.
SOLUTION: A PLL (phase locked loop) 3 and a controller 7 of a video signal processor 9 identify the transmission system of a video signal B sent from a terminal 1 with an identification signal C received at a terminal 4. The PLL 3 divides the reference frequency for phase comparison with the video signal B by using a frequency division ratio suitable to the identified transmission system of the video signal B. An optimum sampling frequency is therefore supplied to an A/D converter 2. The controller 7 determines a vertical enlargement rate of a vertical enlarging circuit 5 and a horizontal enlargement rate of a horizontal enlarging circuit 6 according to the sceeen system of the display 8 and the identified transmission system of the video signal B. Consequently, the a vertical enlarging circuit 5 and horizontal enlarging circuit 6 applies vertical enlargement processing and horizontal enlargement processing for canceling the difference in aspect ratio between the display 8 and video signal B to the video signal B.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the limit time of the reduction of luminance caused by the degradation of phosphor to twice by making phosphors required for displaying a video every other phosphor while shifting the scanning line at the time of performing a progressive scanning by one line for every ON of a power source. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 100 outputs a power source-ON signal which is to be applied to a power source circuit 103 and a scanning line control flag producing means (Exclusive OR gate) 104 and also reads out a scanning line control flag at the time of a preceding power source-ON from an EEPROM 102 to apply it to the means 104. The means 104 reverses the preceding scanning line cotrol flag to apply it to a panel scanning driver 105. An X, Y panel driver 106 performs the controlling of light emitting addresses in accordance with video data and the controlling of luminance and contrast with respect to a PDP 107. Moreover, phosphors emitting light can be changed over for every other phosphor for every ON of the power source by allowing the driver 105 to control the PDP 107 so as to shift the scanning line at the time of performing the progressive scanning by one line.
