    • PURPOSE:To shorten starting time of a helium refrigerating cycle by employing a cooling heat exchanger in a vessel for an object to be cooled as for precooling of a heat exchanger in a cold holding tank at the time of starting and as for cooling cooling refrigerant of a refrigerating cycle at the time of normal state. CONSTITUTION:When a helium compressor 1 is started, a turbine inlet valve 4 is closed, and a bypass valve 13 is opened, compressed gas is guided to a cooling heat exchanger 7 via a tube 12, the valve 13. Cooling medium 14 such as liquid nitrogen is, for example, sealed in a vessel 8 for an object to be cooled, and helium gas is cooled to temperature near the cooling medium by thermally exchanging operation with the medium 14. Helium gas is supplied to a heat exchanger 3 in a cold holding tank 11 to cool the exchanger 3, and returned to the compressor 1 via a tube 10. The intermediate temperature of the exchanger 3 is measured by a thermometer 15. When the temperature approaches a temperature at the time of normal state, the valve 13 is closed, the valve 4 is opened, and helium is passed to a helium turbine 5. The exchanger 7 condenses the medium 14 to be evaporated by a heat load 17 to reach a normal state as a helium refrigerating cycle at this time point.

    • PURPOSE:To achieve safe and certain operation of cars by installing obstacle sensors around a track at a certain spacing, and transmitting the result from examining, whether there is any obstacle on the track, at certain intervals by the mentioned sensors to an operation center and a cab of the leading car in the form of signals. CONSTITUTION:At a certain approx. constrant spacing L1, obstacle sensors 3 are installed in locations in the upper part of the side wall of a track 2 or any place corresponding thereto and where the car section dimensions a Xb inside of the track 2 can be monitored. When cars 1 begin running, that of the sensors 3 which is situated a distance L apart from the cars 1 senses whether there is any obstacle inside of the track 2, and sends an appropriate signal to an operation control center 4 and the cab 5 of the cars 1. The center 4 or the cab 5 judges signals about obstacle given one after another with advance of the cars 1 to permit them to run at the scheduled speed or to cause them to decelerate or stop.
