    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize various AC input voltages with automatic discrimination by a method wherein an approximately constant DC voltage is supplied to a load connected to a main circuit regardless of the connection of a stepdown transformer. SOLUTION: When the voltage of a commercial power supply 1 is AC 100V, a voltage which is stepped down by a stepdown transformer 2 and rectified and smoothed is applied to voltage dividing resistors 10 and 11, a shunt regulator 18 is turned on in accordance with a ratio between the divided voltages, a control transistor 29 is turned on, a relay contact 23b is closed and, in the positive half cycle period of the AC input of the main circuit, a smoothing capacitor 4 is charged and, in the negative half cycle period, a smoothing capacitor 5 is charged. When the voltage of the commercial power supply 1 is AC 200V, as the rectified and smoothed voltage is doubled, the shunt regulator 18 is turned off, the control transistor 29 is turned off, the relay contact 23b is opened and the smoothing capacitors 4 and 5 which are connected in series are charged. In both the cases, the voltage is full-wave rectified by a load 7 in parallel connection to obtain a required voltage. As a result, a various AC input voltage can be utilized with automatic discrimination.

    • PURPOSE:To control a pulse width stably by combining to use a core having a large gap length, which enables the increase of a DC superposed current, and a core having a small gap length. CONSTITUTION:A smoothing choke is furnished with a pair of positive and negative conductors 1, a core 2 having a large gap length and a core 3 having a small gap length, and said pair of conductors 1 are passed through a pair of through holes made in the cores 2, 3, respectively, to constitute said smoothing choke. Further, each terminal of a capacitor is connected with each of conductors 1 so that a smoothing circuit is formed with the cores 2, 3 side of the pair of conductors 1 as an input side and the capacitor side thereof as an output side. In this way, an electric current flows in the direction of the arrow and the pair of conductors 1 function as one turn of coil. Within the range where a DC superposed current is small, therefore, a synthetic inductance can be increased, a critical current of an output smoothing circuit can be decreased and a stable pulse width control can be performed.

    • PURPOSE:To increase reliability without providing a spare power supply outside, by a construction wherein a plurality of voltage converters are connected in parallel and each control command is transmitted to other voltage converters in common, while an internal output voltage of each voltage converter is monitored and the existence or nonexistence of a failure is informed to the outside. CONSTITUTION:A switching power supply 1 is constructed by connecting a plurality of DC-DC converters 2 in parallel. In the case when an output voltage fluctuates herein, a comparator part 23 of each DC-DC voltage converter 2 transmits a control voltage signal 24 to output voltage control parts 25 of the other DC-DC converters 2 through a transmission line 4 and the switching power source 1 as a whole outputs a prescribed output voltage by coordinated operations. In the case of a short-circuit accident, a fuse 3 is blown out and the failing DC-DC converter 2 is cut off. Moreover, a failure detecting circuit 5 monitors a state of operation of each DC-DC converter 2 on the basis of DC voltage signal 26 and delivers a maintenance request signal outside when it detects the failure.

    • PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of a leakage inductance, by fitting a first and a second capacitors on a space between the connecting points of the positive and negative poles of a DC power source and a first and a second transformers. CONSTITUTION:A DC-DC converter is provided with a DC power source Vi, a first-a second switching elements Tr1-Tr2, and a first-a second transformers T1-T2. In this case, to a space between the negative pole of the first transformer T1 and the positive pole of the DC power source Vi, and to a space between the positive pole of the second transformer T2 and the negative pole of the DC power source Vi, the same capacitors C1-C2 are respectively connected. By the capacitors C1-C2, the voltage of the DC power source Vi applied to both the transformers T1-T2 is divided. Then, the rectification or the like of the secondary current of the transformers T1-T2 is performed, and the output of DC output voltage V0 is generated. As a result, the ratio of a primary winding to a secondary winding can be suppressed to be diminished, and the generation of a leakage inductance can be suppressed.
