    • PURPOSE:To hold a sound wave transmitter-receiver at a fixed position from water surface so that it always turns just downward by using a steel rope as the arm of a scanner for moving the sound wave transmitter-receiver on the water surface. CONSTITUTION:The sound wave transmitter-receiver 11 is provided on the tip part of a probe head 10 and transmits sound wave 12. The sound wave 12 is reflected on the bottom of the water 62 and propagated upward under the water, then it is received by the transmitter-receiver 11 again. A distance to the bottom of the water is measured based on a time from transmitting the sound wave till receiving it. A float 20 is used as a supporting body in order to hold the head 10 in a fixed distance from the water surface and easily move it to an optional measurement point on the water surface. Moreover, in order to make the head 10 always turn just downward, it is hung so as to be freely oscillated through an external supporting ring 22 and an internal supporting ring 23. The float 20 is moved while being pushed out of the water surface and returned by the arm of the scanner 30.

CONSTITUTION:A magnetic flux PHIs necessary to magnetically saturate the object heat transfer tube 40 satisfys PHIs = (saturated magnetic flux density Bsc of a magnetic core 20) X (sectional are Sc of the core 20) >= (saturated magnetic flux density Bst of the material of the tube 40) X (sectional area St of the tube 40). In order to increase a value of (BscXSc), the area Sc is restricted, and the tube 40 having large St of the above formula, i,e., large sectional area can be applied by the use of the core material having large Bsc. A function for increasing the thickness of the tube 40 to be applied from t1 to t2 is obtained by the use of the core 20 having (the density Bst of the material of the density Bsc of the core 20) > (the density Bst of the material of the tube 40), and hence the test of the tube 40 which has not been able to be tested, can be executed.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance the workability and test accuracy at a time when the measurement of the thickness of the oxide film on the surface of a material to be tested such as a fuel rod and the detection of the surface damage of the material to be tested are performed in the water of a fuel pool by utilizing an eddy current. CONSTITUTION:A chasis 7, a pair of upper and lower frames 5, 6 fixing the chasis 7 to a fuel handle 25 and an operation head 100 moving along the fuel rod 26 of the fuel handle in an up-and-down vertical direction between the frames 5, 6 and also moved in the lateral direction crossing the up-and-down vertical direction at a right angle and a before-and-behind direction are provided and a test coil 10 and a standard coil 13 are attached to the operation head 100 and a sensitivity calibrating test piece 12 is provided in the vicinity of the operation head 100. An air sump is provided to the chasis 7 and feed screws 17, 20 moving the operation head 100 in the up-and-down vertical direction and the lateral direction are provided to the chasis 7 and two motors 16, 19 driven by the screws are arranged to the operation head 100 in a left-and-right symmetric state. A Manganin wire is used in the test coil 10 and guide rollers are provided above and under the test coil 10 to be held by a coil spring 11 and a slide rod.

    • PURPOSE:To automate blow detection using magnetic particles by taking a structure wherein a hole is made in an iron core of a magnetizing apparatus and a TV camera for observation is embedded therein and by providing an ultraviolet-ray intercepting filter and a shutter in front of the camera. CONSTITUTION:A TV camera 200 is fitted in such a manner that it is embedded in a hole made in the central part of an iron core of a magnetizing apparatus 100, and the camera 200 is always directed to the center of a testing surface 502. An illuminating lamp 250 applies an ultraviolet ray so that fluorescent light be generated from fluorescent magnetic particle and makes the camera 200 detect a defect. However, Part of the ultraviolet ray reflected on the testing surface reaches the camera 200 directly and covers a screen, so that other images can not be seen. In order to prevent this disadvantage, an optical filter 231 which transmits the fluorescent light generated by the magnetic particle, but intercepts the ultraviolet ray, is provided in front of the camera 200 and thereby the harmful reflected ultraviolet ray is intercepted. Besides, a shutter 232 for preventing the stick on a lens of the camera 200 of a splash of an inspecting liquid scattered on the testing surface 502 is driven by an actuator 234 to be opened and closed.
