    • PURPOSE:To suppress errors in measurement due to water temperature, by providing comparing probes and a resistance adjuster. CONSTITUTION:Three reference test pieces 3 are used in an atmosphere. The zero point adjustment of probes is performed by a measuring device 5 and resistors 11 and 12 of a resistance adjuster 10. Then a reference standard test piece 3 is contacted to the tip of a reference probe 2, and comparing test piece 12 is contacted to the tip of a comparing probe 11. A measuring probe is provided in the vicinity of bodies to be measured 7 and 8 in water 1 independently. Immediately before measurement, the switch 13 of the resistance adjuster 10 is connected to the terminal 14 of the comparing probe 11. The balance of the measuring device 5 is adjusted so that the comparing test piece 12 indicates zero or a known film thickness. After the adjustment, the switch 13 of the resistance adjuster 10 is connected to the terminal 15 of the measuring probe. The thickness of the film to be measured 8 is measured by the measuring probe 6.

In order to increase a value of (BscXSc), the area Sc is restricted, and the tube 40 having large St of the above formula, i,e., large sectional area can be applied by the use of the core material having large Bsc. A function for increasing the thickness of the tube 40 to be applied from t1 to t2 is obtained by the use of the core 20 having (the density Bst of the material of the density Bsc of the core 20) > (the density Bst of the material of the tube 40), and hence the test of the tube 40 which has not been able to be tested, can be executed.

CONSTITUTION:A chasis 7, a pair of upper and lower frames 5, 6 fixing the chasis 7 to a fuel handle 25 and an operation head 100 moving along the fuel rod 26 of the fuel handle in an up-and-down vertical direction between the frames 5, 6 and also moved in the lateral direction crossing the up-and-down vertical direction at a right angle and a before-and-behind direction are provided and a test coil 10 and a standard coil 13 are attached to the operation head 100 and a sensitivity calibrating test piece 12 is provided in the vicinity of the operation head 100. An air sump is provided to the chasis 7 and feed screws 17, 20 moving the operation head 100 in the up-and-down vertical direction and the lateral direction are provided to the chasis 7 and two motors 16, 19 driven by the screws are arranged to the operation head 100 in a left-and-right symmetric state. A Manganin wire is used in the test coil 10 and guide rollers are provided above and under the test coil 10 to be held by a coil spring 11 and a slide rod.

    • PURPOSE:To automate blow detection using magnetic particles by taking a structure wherein a hole is made in an iron core of a magnetizing apparatus and a TV camera for observation is embedded therein and by providing an ultraviolet-ray intercepting filter and a shutter in front of the camera. CONSTITUTION:A TV camera 200 is fitted in such a manner that it is embedded in a hole made in the central part of an iron core of a magnetizing apparatus 100, and the camera 200 is always directed to the center of a testing surface 502. An illuminating lamp 250 applies an ultraviolet ray so that fluorescent light be generated from fluorescent magnetic particle and makes the camera 200 detect a defect. However, Part of the ultraviolet ray reflected on the testing surface reaches the camera 200 directly and covers a screen, so that other images can not be seen. In order to prevent this disadvantage, an optical filter 231 which transmits the fluorescent light generated by the magnetic particle, but intercepts the ultraviolet ray, is provided in front of the camera 200 and thereby the harmful reflected ultraviolet ray is intercepted. Besides, a shutter 232 for preventing the stick on a lens of the camera 200 of a splash of an inspecting liquid scattered on the testing surface 502 is driven by an actuator 234 to be opened and closed.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of an ultrasonic size measuring apparatus and to make the apparatus compact by arranging two ultrasonic vibrators back to back, providing every two reflecting bodies within the respective ultrasonic beams, i.e., four reflecting bodies in total, and measuring the correlative position correctly. CONSTITUTION:A transceiver element 10 has two vibrators 11 to form ultrasonic beams 12. A reference reflecting body 12 is placed between a measuring surface 20 and the vibrator 11. Then, a calibration reflecting body 22 is arranged beforehand at the position of a correctly-measured distance C1. The distance M1 between the surface 20 and the body 21, and the distance C1 between the bodies 21 and 22 are measured. When the distance in water is to be measured by sound waves, although the sound velocity in water becomes different depending on the water temperature, the value of M1 can be corrected by the ratio of the distance C1 which has been correctly measured beforehand and the distance C1 measured by the apparatus. Similarly, the value of M2 is corrected. Moreover, if the distance S between the reflecting bodies 21 and 23 is correctly measured beforehand, the inside diameter D can be known correctly.
