    • PURPOSE:To control a pulse width stably by combining to use a core having a large gap length, which enables the increase of a DC superposed current, and a core having a small gap length. CONSTITUTION:A smoothing choke is furnished with a pair of positive and negative conductors 1, a core 2 having a large gap length and a core 3 having a small gap length, and said pair of conductors 1 are passed through a pair of through holes made in the cores 2, 3, respectively, to constitute said smoothing choke. Further, each terminal of a capacitor is connected with each of conductors 1 so that a smoothing circuit is formed with the cores 2, 3 side of the pair of conductors 1 as an input side and the capacitor side thereof as an output side. In this way, an electric current flows in the direction of the arrow and the pair of conductors 1 function as one turn of coil. Within the range where a DC superposed current is small, therefore, a synthetic inductance can be increased, a critical current of an output smoothing circuit can be decreased and a stable pulse width control can be performed.

    • PURPOSE:To increase reliability without providing a spare power supply outside, by a construction wherein a plurality of voltage converters are connected in parallel and each control command is transmitted to other voltage converters in common, while an internal output voltage of each voltage converter is monitored and the existence or nonexistence of a failure is informed to the outside. CONSTITUTION:A switching power supply 1 is constructed by connecting a plurality of DC-DC converters 2 in parallel. In the case when an output voltage fluctuates herein, a comparator part 23 of each DC-DC voltage converter 2 transmits a control voltage signal 24 to output voltage control parts 25 of the other DC-DC converters 2 through a transmission line 4 and the switching power source 1 as a whole outputs a prescribed output voltage by coordinated operations. In the case of a short-circuit accident, a fuse 3 is blown out and the failing DC-DC converter 2 is cut off. Moreover, a failure detecting circuit 5 monitors a state of operation of each DC-DC converter 2 on the basis of DC voltage signal 26 and delivers a maintenance request signal outside when it detects the failure.
