摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent the freezing and the breakage of a heat pipe by a method wherein a substance (e.g., fibers) capable of causing a capilary phenomenon to take place from the interior to the exterior of the heat pipe is arranged so that the liquid within the heat pipe is directed outside the pipe. CONSTITUTION:The substance, that is, a fibrous strand 14, which is capable of causing a capilary phenomenon to take place from one end of the heat pipe 12 to a liquid receiving tank 32 is provided. When the operation of the heat pipe 12 is stopped, the operation liquid 18 stored in one end of the heat pipe 12 permeates the fibrous strand 14 due to its surface tension and is transferred into the liquid receiving tank 32 through a sealed pipe 30. The fibrous strand 14 is shown extending up to the tank 32 but in practice, it is sufficient for the wick to extend only up to one end (the inlet port) of the sealed pipe 30 because if the tank 32 is arranged lower (closer to the ground) than a heat exchange section 20, then the falling of the operation liquid 20 due to gravity could by utilized.

摘要： PURPOSE:To enable to have a high heat collectivity at a heat collecting temperature of about 100 deg.C by a method wherein a space consisting of plural divided permeable substances is provided on the upper part of a heat collecting unit and is made vacuous. CONSTITUTION:A space having a triangle cross section is formed with a glass cover 1 and a corrugated glass 6. By making the space 7 vacuous a convection loss from a heat collecting tube 2 and a heat collecting plate 3 is reduced. A part of a sunlight 8 reflected with the corrugated glass 6 can be taken in a heat collector due to a triangle construction. Therefore, a heat collecting efficiency is improved and a glass construction strength can be enhanced through a triangle space.

摘要： PURPOSE:To elevate the measuring accuracy by calculating the core flow rate from the difference in the temperature between the fluid inlet and outlet on the primary side, that between the fluid inlet and outlet on the secondary side and the fluid flow rate on the secondary side in a heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:As the primary cooling water passes through a heat exchanger 5, the temperature thereof differs at the outlet from that at the inlet thereof. These temperatures are picked up as voltage signal with a thermocouple 19 and after amplified with a differential amplifier 22, they are converted into digital signals with an A/D converter 23 to be inputted into a computation circuit 24. On the other hand, the inlet temperature, outlet temperature and flow rate of the secondary side cooling water before and after the heat exchange are measured properly with a thermometer and a flowmeter and electrical signals thereof are also inputted into the computation circuit 24, which calculates and outputs the flow rate of the primary cooling water from these signals.

摘要： PURPOSE:To permit to expand the operating range of a furnace by a method wherein a torque is given by a water turbine or the like provided coaxially with the rotating shaft of a pump separately from an electric source system when the electric power is interrupted to lengthen a time constant upon reducing a flow amount and reduce the value of DELTAMCPR. CONSTITUTION:The internal pump driving water turbine 18 is attached between the impeller 13 of the internal pump and a primary seal 24 while the suction side opening 17 of the water turbine is provided at the place of a diffuser 14. When the electric source for the pump is lost, the voltage reduction of the electric source 21 is detected by a detector 22 and a valve 20 is opened. In this case, a part of cooling water 12 enters into the water turbine through the suction side opening 17. Water, entered into the water turbine 18, is satulated water, therefore, a part of it is evaporated simultaneously with the pressure reduction, the volume of it is expanded, a part of enthalpy of the water is changed into kinetic energy to drive the water turbine 18 and tries to maintain the rotation of the pump. According to this effect, the time constant of flow amount reduction may be elongated, therefore, DELTAMCPR may be made smaller and the operating range of the furnace may be expanded.
