    • PURPOSE: To shorten the delay time of an output image signal by using a filter in which a center of gravity is set so that the delay time of each signal component is set at a time less than specific time, respectively. CONSTITUTION: In a separation circuit which performs the frequency separation of a luminance signal Y. a chrominance signal C and a reinforcing signal HH from a composite television signal Vs by the filter, respectively. a component less than the horizontal around 2MHz of the luminance signal Y is assumed as YL, a component over around 2MHz outputted in the standstill of an image mainly as Ys, a component over horizontal around 2MHz outputted in motion mainly and a component outputted in the standstill of the chrominance signal mainly as Cs, and a component outputted in the motion mainly as Cm. The center of gravity is set so that the delay time of the component YL goes to a time less than two field time(2/60 sec.), and that of the components Ys, Ym, Cs, Cm and HH to time less than three field time(3/60 sec.), respectively. For example, an input signal Vs is delayed by connecting 263H delay circuits 30, 31, a 262H delay circuit 32 and 1H delay circuits 34-37 as shown in figure (a).

    • PURPOSE:To identify the system of EDTV and NTSC by measuring the number of '1' in a signal S3 at a reference area in an EDTV identification signal and the number of pulses in a signal S4 at a recognition signal area and comparing the size of a measured value and a setting value. CONSTITUTION:A bar signal detection part 6 measures the number of '1' included in a binary signal S3 at the reference area in the EDTV identification signal. When the number is larger an the setting value N, '1' is outputted to a signal S5 and '0' when it is less than N. A 4fsc/7 detection part 7 measures the number of the pulses included in a binary signal S4 in a control signal CT2. When the number is larger than the setting value M, '1' is transmitted to a signal S6 and '0' when it is less than M. A system setting part 8 discriminates it to be the EDTV identification control signal when the signals S5 and S6 are '1', and outputs the signal of '1' showing the EDTV system to a MOD signal. When either the signal $5 or S6 or both signals are '0', they are discriminated to be video signals, and the signal of '0' showing the NTSC system is outputted to the MOD signal. Thus, the both systems can highly precisely be identified.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain images prevented from the deterioration of image quality in both of still and dynamic images by regenerating a highly accurate signal from a still image and suppressing the reproducing of a dynamic image. CONSTITUTION:A chrominance signal extracting circuit 6 extracts a chrominance signal (c), a high definition signal extracting circuit 7 extracts a high definition signal YH and a separator circuit 9 removes these signal components to extract a luminance signal YL. On the other hand, a motion detecting circuit 8 judges whether an image is a dynamic image or a still image, and in the case of a dynamic image, controls the output of the circuit 7. The signal (c) is demodulated to color difference signals I, Q by a demodulation circuit 10. The signal YH is demodulated to the original high frequency luminance signal by a frequency shifting circuit 11 and added to the YL component by an adder circuit 12 to demodulate the luminance signal. The circuit 6 can extract the chrominance signal component also by inter-frame operation in a still image mode or intra-field operation in a dynamic image mode.
