    • PURPOSE: To reduce cross talk between luminance signals and chrominance signals and to reduce the decline of resolution at the time of moving pictures and at the time of still pictures by demodulating the chrominance signals and the luminance signals extracted in a space-time filter. CONSTITUTION: From received NTSC signals, the information of still/moving picture modes is extracted by a mode extraction circuit 32 and the chrominance signal and high band luminance signal components are extracted by time filters 33 and 34 for the still picture and for the moving picture. By a changeover switch 35, corresponding to mode information 36, the signals of the time filter 33 are selected at the time of a still mode and the signals of the time filter 34 are selected at the time of a moving picture mode respectively. Then, they are respectively inputted to demodulators 39 and 40, synchronization detection is performed by carrier waves fM1 and fM2 , the signals from the demodulator 39 are passed through a high-pass filter 41 and high band luminance signals 42 are reproduced. Also, the signals from the demodulator 40 are passed through a low-pass filter 43 and the high band components 44 of color difference signals I are reproduced. Also, the other one of the output of the demodulator 48 is inputted to the low-pass filter 50 and the signals Q are reproduced.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate missing in detecting the move in a receiver, and to improve the quality of a reproduced picture by detecting a moving component not detectable on the reception side preliminarily on the transmission side, and adding an additional signal that uses a color signal with which a moving can be detected on the reception side, then transmitting the component. CONSTITUTION:Signals R, G, B which are the image signals obtained by scanning by a sequential scanning camera 1 at a frame period of 1/60sec., are converted to a luminance signal Y and color difference signals I, Q in a conversion circuit 2, and inputted to a scanning conversion circuit 5. A moving detection circuit 4, upon detecting the time frequency 30Hz-component of the Y-signal, closes a switch 6 so that the additional signal Q' from a signal generator 3 is transmitted to an adder 7. In the adder 7, a Q-signal from the circuit 5 and the additional signal Q' are added with each other, and thus obtained color signal Q' is inputted to an encoder 8 together with a luminance signal Y' and another color signal I'. The color signals I', Q' are modulated in the encoder 8 by using a color subcarrier wave fsc, and multiplexed with the luminance signal, then transmitted. The additional signal added to the Q-signal is made such a signal as detectable in a moving detection (difference between two frames) on the reception side.
