    • PURPOSE:To allow low-floating and to obtain a higher density by adopting the constitution in which the surface consists of projecting parts and recessed parts and that the occupying areas of the recessed parts are larger the nearer the outer periphery from the inner periphery of the magnetic disk. CONSTITUTION:The surface shape of the magnetic disk is constituted of the projecting parts and the recessed parts and the ratios of the areas of the recessed parts are set larger the nearer the outer periphery from the inner periphery. Namely, the head floating slide surface of a magnetic head is floated by the principle of a gas bearing as the disk rotates and, therefore, the disk surface largely receives the influence of the shape and roughness. The pressure on the floating slide surface of the magnetic head drops and the head floating quantity decreases when the ratios occupied by the recessed parts of the disk surface increase. The increase in the head floating quantity, i.e., the difference between the inner and outer peripheries of the head floating quantity is decreased by increasing the ratio of the recessed parts of the disk surfaces toward the outer periphery. Recording at the high density by the low floating of the head is possible in this way.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the adsorption between a magnetic disc medium and a magnetic head without lowering the sliding resistance characteristic by selecting the lubricant film thickness of a specific part of a contact start stop zone thinner than that of the other parts. CONSTITUTION:A disc 1 is driven while being fitted to a turning spindle 2 and a lubricant from a lubricant supply part 3 moved in a radial direction of the disc 1 or fixed thereto is adsorbed by the disc 1. A magnetic head stop part 5 is assumed to a part of the start top (CS.S) zone 4 of the disc 1 to provided to a mask 6. The ratio of the lubricant film thickness of the stop part 5 to the other parts is decided that the lubricant film thickness of the stop part 5 is decided at first from the permissible value not causing the adsorption depending on the relation between the adsorbing force and lubricant film thickness after for a long time and the lubricant film thickness of the parts other than the stop part from the relation between the slide resistance characteristic and the lubricant film thickness and between the characteristic with respective to the magnetic head floating and the lubricant film thickness. Then the part having a smaller lubricant film thickness than that of the other part is provided to a part of the zone 4 and the adsorption is improved without lowering the slide resistance characteristic.

    • PURPOSE:To form a stable and uniform coating film, by arranging a lubricant coating spray nozzle at a predetermined distance while arranging a plurality of temp. detectors and control parts in the vicinity of an object to be coated grasped from both surfaces thereof and performing the control of a spray state by the measurement of temp. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic disc 1 is grasped at the inner periphery thereof and rotated to the direction shown by an arrow A. Both surfaces of the magnetic disc are partially held between masks 3, 3 each having an opening part 3a in order to adjust a lubricant spray area and a spray nozzle 2 is arranged in opposed relation to the opening part 3a and sprays the lubricant diluted by a solvent to coat the surface of the magnetic disc 1. Thermocouples 4 are arranged at several places in the vicinity of the opening part 3a of the mask 3 and connected to a control part through an amplifier 5 for amplifying a signal to perform temp. measuring control. The output of the control part 6 is sent to a temp. recording part 7 for recording temp. detected by the thermocouples.

    • PURPOSE:To suppress the attraction of a head and a disk at the time when the disk stops and to improve dust resistance by providing a monomolecular film of a lubricating agent having surface bondability to a contact start-stop CSS zone and providing a lubricating film which is larger in amt. than in the CSS zone to the other data area. CONSTITUTION:A Cr lubricating agent film 2, a magnetic Co alloy film 3, and a protective C film 4 are formed by a sputtering method on an Ni-P plated substrate 1. The CSS area is completely coated with the lubricating agent of a bond type and the so-called monomolecular film having no excessive unbonded lubricating agent is formed thereon. The lubricating agent of the amt. larger than in the CSS area is coated in the other data area. Since the excess lubricating agent does not exist in this way, the attraction does not arise even if the head and the disk come into contact with each other over a long period of time. The smooth start is thus possible. Since a large amt. of the lubricating agent exists in the data area of the disk during the operation of the device, the disk having the excellent dust resistance is obtd.
