    • PURPOSE:To distribute refrigerant corresponding to the capacities of room-side heat exchangers even if the charged amount of refrigerant decreases to some extent or the room-side heat exchangers differ in capacity, by a method wherein the lifts of electronic expansion valves are controlled during heating operation so that the ratios of the refrigerant flow rates detected by refrigerant flow detectors are maintained at the specified ones. CONSTITUTION:Superheat gas refrigerant flows from a compressor 1 to indoor units through parallel pipes during heating operation, and electronic expansion valves 5a - 5c are controlled so that the ratios of flow rates reach the specified ones. Therefore, the refrigerant is distributed ideally without influence of excess of shortfall in the charged amount of refrigerant. In cooling operation, the electronic expansion valves 5a - 5c are also controlled so that the refrigerant becomes the specified superheat gas at the outlet of room-side heat exchangers 4a - 4c. Therefore, an ideal an ideal distribution of refrigerant can be achieved without influence of excess or shortfall in the charged amount of refrigerant. Thereby, the refrigerant is fairly distributed even when the charged amount of refrigerant is insufficient due to leakage during a long term operation or mistake at erection work.

CONSTITUTION:An air conditioner 1 is made such that two air blowers 3 for use in blowing air in both directions are arranged at an upper part and a lower part of a longitudinal cabinet 11. A heat exchanger 2 is mounted between the upper air blower and the lower air blower. Air blowing ports 5 are arranged at the right and left sides of each of the air blowers, air suction ports 4 are arranged at right and left sides of the heat exchanger 2, and a water receptacle 9 is arranged between the heat exchanger 2 and the air blower 3, respectively. Outlet and inlet ports 6 of the refrigerant pipe are arranged at an upper end and a lower end of the cabinet 11. In case that the refrigerant pipes 71 and 72 are connected from a floor 12, they are connected by utilizing the refrigerant pipe inlet and outlet ports 6 at the lower end of the cabinet 11. In case that the refrigerant pipes 71 and 72 are connected from a ceiling plate, the heat exchanger 2 is fixed upside down and then it is connected by utilizing the upper end refrigerant pipe inlet or outlet port 6 of the cabinet 11.

    • PURPOSE:To surely carry out the stopping of the operation of an air conditioner or of parts adapted in the interior of a grille, when the grille is opened, by disposing a limit switch, a photoelectric sensor or the like to the grille or interpositions disposed so as to move the grille. CONSTITUTION:For example, a limit switch 1 is fastened to a guide 3 secured to a spacer 5 disposed between the main body 4 of an air conditioner and a grille 6. An oblong hole is machined on one side surface of the guide 3, and a movable bar 2 which is vertically movable through the oblong hole at a guide is incorporated in the oblong hole. The movable bar 2 is vertically moved by its gravity in accordance with the opening and closing operation of the grille 6. If the grille 6 is in a closed state, a contact point is kept in an ON state and, when the grille 6 begins to open, the movable bar 2 simultaneously moves downward, whereby a contact point spring of the limit switch 1 is released at a certain position to which the movable bar 2 moves down and, as a result, the contact point is turned into an OFF state. According ly, if this contact point of the limit switch 1 is wired to a power line for a blower of the air conditioner, the operation of blowing air can immediately be stopped even in the case where the grille 6 is erroneously opened during the operation of the air conditioner.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a connection structure in which an air direction adjusting vane is selectively fixed and a non-selected other air direction adjusting vane is continued to be driven by a method wherein the connection structure is provided with a lever which is moved together with a shaft for transmitting a driving force of an electric motor to the air direction adjusting vane. CONSTITUTION:A part of D-shaped part of a shaft pin part 8 is inserted into an arm F9 for transmitting a driving force of an electric motor so as to drive directly an air direction adjusting vane 6. When a knob part of a stop lever 14 is held and moved up to a position where it is abutted against the air direction adjusting vane, the shaft is removed from a hole having a D-shaped section of the arm F9, so that the air direction adjusting vane 6 may freely he rotated. In this case, since the arm F9 is inserted into a bearing part 12, a position of the arm F9 is not varied. In addition, it is connected to the driving electric motor 1, even if the driving electric motor is driven, the arm F9 continues to be operated. When a knob 13 is fastened toward a female thread made at the shaft, the female thread at the shaft is made as its deeper side has a smaller diameter, so that the male thread of the knob 13 can fighter the shaft 8 and the air direction adjusting vane can be fixed at a freely rotational position.

    • PURPOSE:To simplify the complicated handling for posture changing of an air flow direction blade at each time by a method wherein the posture of the air flow direction blade provided at a blow-off port of an air conditioner is varied to an upward or downward position with a shape memory alloy. CONSTITUTION:At the heating operation of an air conditioner, initially, a cold air is blown-off from a blow-off port 2, at this time, a shape memory alloy 22 is cotracted and moved backward by a bias spring 24, accordingly, an actuator 20 is moved backward along a guide bar 14 in continuous line condition. A lower side air flow direction blade 10 is positioned automatically on upward posture, also an upper side air flow direction blade 10' is simultaneously adjusted to be upward posture by a pin 27 of a connecting bar 26 connected to a pin 25. After this operation, when a heated and raised in temperature air is blown-off, the shape memory alloy 22 is extended gradually in memory condition, the actuator 20 is extended (l) length along the guide bar 14, the air flow direction blade 10 is changed to downward posture, also the air flow direction blade 10' is made to be downward posture. Thereby, the heated and conditioned air is blown-off downward through the blow-off port 2.
