    • PURPOSE:To prevent a cold air feeling and improve a comfortable feeling without making a direct contact of conditioned air of low temperature with a human body by a method wherein an amount of blown air is reduced when a heating operation is started and the air is blown out of an upper blowing port. CONSTITUTION:Air is sucked through a suction port 13 by a fan 12 attached to an air blowing motor 11 and the air is blown out of blowing ports 14 and 15. The air blowing motor 11 is provided with a Hi, Me, Lo and D3 taps for changing over among a rapid air blowing, a strong air blowing and a weak air blowing in addition to Slo tap so as to realize a less amount of blowing air than that of the strong air blowing. Just after starting the heating operation, if the discharged gas temperature of the compressor shows a low value, only the air blower 8 is controlled to be operated with Slo tap. When a heating operation is started, the air sucked through the suction ports 2 and 3 is heat exchanged by an inner heat exchanger. Since a discharged gas temperature of the compressor is not sufficiently raised, even if the air becomes a conditioned air, its temperature is low yet. The conditioned air not sufficiently heated is blown as a fine air by the Slo tap of the air blower motor only through the blowing ports 4 and 5, resulting in that a reaching distance of the blown air is short and it does not provide any cool air feeling to a person nearby.

    • PURPOSE:To improve a comfortable feeling by a method wherein a sensor is arranged for measuring a surface temperature of a human body within an air conditioned space, and a measured value of this sensor is sent to a system for controlling an operation of an air conditioner. CONSTITUTION:A radiation thermometer 2 may measure a surface temperature of a human body 5 and send its measured value to a system for controlling an operation of an air conditioner 1. This system is provided with a converter 6 and a controlling microcomputer 7 for an air conditioner 1. The converter 6 may convert and surface temperature of a human body measured by a radia tion thermometer 2 into a predetermined output signal and send it to a control ling microcomputer 7. The controlling microcomputer 7 may determine an operating condition of the air conditioner 1 in response to a predetermined discriminating condition in reference to an output signal relating to the surface temperature of the human body sent from the converter 6.

    • PURPOSE:To allow the cold/hot air outlet of air conditioner to be used as a pleasant interior design object by disguising same as interior design objects such as a tree or flower box, etc., by forming the cold/hot air passage to the outlet with several pipes. CONSTITUTION:Under the cooling mode operation, the room air is taken in by a fan 2 to exchange heat with refrigerant in a heat exchanger 3, and the cooled and dehumidified air is delivered from the unit 1. A pot 4 for an artificial tree 6 is attached to the air outlet. The cold air passes through the pipe disposed in the center of the pot 4, and the cold air 92 is delivered from holes drilled in the pipe 5 to cool the room. In this case, a cold/hot air reversing valve 10 is open. Under the heating mode operation, on the other hand, the valve 10 is fully closed or half closed. Therefore, the hot air 93 delivered from the unit 1 is inhibited to flow upwardly, but is blown near to the floor out of holes in the pot ahead of the valve 10. By operating the valve 10, cold air can be delivered from above, and hot air from under.

CONSTITUTION:Room air is sucked in by a fan 2, is subjected to heat exchange with a refrigerant at a heat exchanger 3, and cooled and dehumified air is blown off from a room unit 1. A flowerpot 4 for an artificial tree 6 is fitted to a diffuser of the unit 1, cold air is passed through a pipe 5 provided in a central part of the flowerpot 4, and the cold air 92 is blown off through a plurality of holes formed in the pipe 5, thereby cooling a room. In this case, a cold/hot air switching valve 10 is opened. At the time of a heating operation, the valve 10 is fully or half closed, whereby hot air can be blown off from a lower part. Also, it is possible to blow off cold or hot air through a separate diffuser unit 8 by extending a duct 18 from the unit 1. Thus, the cold/hot air diffuser ports are provided as parts of the artificial tree 6, so that an air conditioner can be obtained which gives a comfortable atmosphere and is capable of being used as an interior decoration.

    • PURPOSE:To make it easy to match an air conditioning unit to the interior of a room and enhance agreeableness, by providing air suction and blow-off ports at side parts of a front panel of the unit. CONSTITUTION:An L-shaped heat exchanger 7 is provided in the center of an air conditioning unit, and blowers 92, 93 are disposed respectively on the upper and lower sides of the heat exchanger. Casings 921, 931 are provided in a bidirectional blow-off construction in which air is sucked in from the direction of a front cover and is blown off in leftward and rightward directions. Room air is introduced by the blowers 92, 93 through left and right suction ports 2 into the unit, it is passed through the heat exchanger 7 while being cooled through heat exchange with a refrigerant in the heat exchanger (a cooling operation), is then sucked into the blowers, and is blown off into the room through left and right blow-off ports 3. The air conditioning unit can be coordinated to the room, and since the air suction and blow off ports are provided at side parts of the unit in a slit form, the unit itself also has a thin shape, and can be matched to the room.
