SOLUTION: This gas-blast circuit breaker injects insulating gas into an arc generated at electric current breaking time by injecting the insulating gas between oppositely arranged movable arc contact and fixed arc contact, an insulating nozzle arranged on the fixed arc contact side in the movable arc contact, a puffer cylinder arranged on the opposite side of the insulating nozzle, a hollow conduct for fixing the fixed arc contactor to the opposite side to the insulating nozzle, an insulating rod connected to the puffer cylinder, and a fixed piston arranged in the puffer cylinder by driving of the insulating rod. The hollow conduct has a cylindrical shape smaller on the downstream side of the insulating gas in a cross section parallel to the axis, and closing the downstream side tip, and has a plurality of opening parts in a cylindrical body part. Although a control mechanism of a resistance breaking part operation mechanism is not operated by drive force of the drive piston of a main breaking part operation mechanism at tripping operation of a breaker when a rotary link 21 is damaged, an electromagnetic coil 23 is magnetized by an electric indication and a hook mechanism of the resistance breaking part operation device is tripped because a mechanical delay action mechanism and a delay action mechanism operated by electric instruction are excessively provided. Thereby, a resistance breaking contact is interrupted. Electric current flows continuously through a resistor and damage to the resistor can be prevented.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a burden required for design and manufacture of a switchboard for a DC circuit which builds in a commutation type direct current breaker by constituting integrally a commutation type DC breaker body and equipment necessary for commutation. SOLUTION: The commutation type direct current breaker is provided with a main switch 3 which is inserted in series into a main circuit for connecting a DC power supply and a load, a commutating capacitor 8, a reactor 10, and a commutating switch 2, and cuts off the main switch by flowing electric charges accumulated in the commutating capacitor to the main switch in reverse direction to the main circuit current to form a current zero point. The commutating capacitor, the reactor, and the commutating switch which constitute a commutating circuit and a control circuit which carries out On-Off control of the main switch and the commutation switch are mounted on a pedestal 17 to mount the main switch.
