    • PURPOSE:To improve bond properties and to heighten reliability and economical efficiency of a heat exchanger, as well as to prevent the pores of heat transmitting plates from clogging, by monolithically bonding laminate material consisting of copper heat transfer plate having pores and stainless steel spacer being laid alternately, by diffusion bonding. CONSTITUTION:A laminate material 1 is compoaed of copper heat transfer plates 1A provided with a number of pores and stainless steel spaces 1B, being laid alternately and bonded monolithically by diffusion bonding. The heat transfer plate 1A and the spacer 1B are worked into specified forms by punching using dies of specified forms. The numericals 3 and 4 are an upper and a lower headers, between which the laminate material 1 is interposed. The above-mentioned diffusion bonding is performed under the following conditions: the degree of vacuum is 10 Torr, the bonding temperature is 900 deg.C, the bonding time is 1hr, and the bonding pressure is 1kg/mm. .
