    • PURPOSE:To reduce the electric power consumption of the thin-film EL display device and to miniaturize the device by executing the on control of a source side high-voltage switching (S) element for supplying current to a load by a low-voltage S element provided to a sink side high-voltage S element. CONSTITUTION:A transistor (Tr) 10 is turned on through a power source terminal 2 from the emitter of an NPN Tr 10 when the low-pressure switching (S) element 15 is turned on and a PMOS Tr 72 in a buffer circuit 7 is turned on. On the other hand, a thyristor 8 is turned on via a collector of the Tr 10 when the S element 15 is turned off and the Tr 72 is turned on. This current is supplied from a low-voltage power source terminal 4 and is automatically annihilated together with the voltage rise of the output terminal. The need for passing the gate driving current of a thyristor 8 from a high-voltage power source terminal 1 is, therefore, eliminated and the need for an NPN Tr for driving is eliminated. The number of the high voltage resistance elements is decreased and the chip size at the time of integration is reduced; in addition, the electric power consumption is reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce ineffective power consumption of a transistor(TR) for thyristor drive by providing a short pulse generating means generating a short pulse synchronously with a control signal and using a generated short pulse so as to control a drive means driving a thyristor. CONSTITUTION:In the case of charging drive of a capacitive load 5, a control signal IN(A) fed to a control input terminal 15 goes to a high level and is fed to a NAND circuit 19 of a short pulse generator 17 and an odd number stage of inverter 18. Then an output signal of the short pulse generator 17 becomes a pulse signal having a width of delay time tON of the inverter 18 of odd number stage. The pulse signal rises synchronously with the leading of the control signal IN(A) applied to the control input terminal 15 to turn on the thyristor drive TR 2 for tON the thyristor 1 is triggered and transited to the ON state. Thus, useless power consumption in the thyristor drive TR 2 is avoided and the power consumption of a pulse generating circuit is reduced. In the case of utilizing it for an EL display panel drive, it is easy to integrate lots of pulse generating circuits.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate the semiconductor circuit integration by using a semiconductor element having a self hold function as a switching element of a power supply side of each channel and providing a switch between the said switching element and the power supply so as to attain on/off control with less drive power. CONSTITUTION:A control signal is given to an NMOS transistor (TR) synchronously with a signal controlling an output voltage changeover timing of plural channels given at input terminals Son, Soff of an NPN TR 13. Further, a signal is given to control terminals Sion, Sioff of NMOS TRs 15a, 15b, 14a, 14b at each channel. Thus, most of the drive current of the switching element of a high voltage part is applied from a low voltage power supply and as to the on-drive current of a thyristor 11 applied from a high voltage power supply, as one for plural channels. Further, as to the signals to the terminals Son, Sion, an H level is given during the on-period, but since the element driven by the said signal is a thyristor, which has the self-hold function and the drive power is reduced further by pulsizing the said signal.

    • PURPOSE:To attain ease of circuit integration with simple circuit constitution by providing a semiconductor control rectifier element having a main terminal connected to one end of a load, other main terminal connected to a reference potential and a control terminal, a switching element whose main terminal is connected to a control terminal and to other terminal of a load and a p-n junction element connected between the other terminal of load and a reference potential. CONSTITUTION:When the energy of a solenoid 1 is circulated, a potential at other point P of the solenoid is lowered to a reference potential by a forward drop's share of a diode 4. Then a switching element 7 is inserted between a gate G of the thyristor 5 and other end P of solenoid and it is possible to draw a current from the gate of the thyristor 5. An on-voltage of the switching element 7 given externally is permitted to a value being a sum between the on-voltage between the gate G and the cathode K of the thyristor 5 and the on-voltage of a circulating diode 4, then high on-voltage (e.g., thyristor) element as the 1st switching element 7 is applied.
