    • PURPOSE: To use the paper efficiently by reading and printing the picture element signal for the sub-scan direction of the CRT since the time of picture element signal per one picture element becomes shorter as the resolution of CRT becomes higher.
      CONSTITUTION: When a microprocessor 10 recognizes that the reception of picture element signal is all completed from a vertical synchronizing counter 25, it commands a main controller 13 to start the printing process. A laser scanning start signal is outputted from the controller 13. The output of a dot counter 23 which counts the output of an oscillator 18 generating the pulse of the same length as one picture element of laser in the main scan direction and the output of a raster counter 24 which counts the number of scan in the sub-scan direction of laser give the read address to a picture element memory 15 through an address multiplexer 19. The 8-bit parallel data read from the picture element memory 15 is outputted to a multiplexer 16, and one bit is selected and outputted to video amplifier through a control circuit 7 as a video signal.

CONSTITUTION:When character pattern data is printed, coordinate data on a character specified by a host computer 4 are read out of the character pattern memory 6 of the character generating device 1 and after the processing for enlargement or reduction and the process for approximating the curve to the straight line, the data are converted into dot data, which are transferred to a bit map memory 9. In this case, when the size of the character to be printed is less than the number of meshes, a scaling process is carried out and then the linear approximation process is performed. Consequently, a cumulative error is reduced and the integration of the rounding error can be minimized.

Further, a painting-out data generation part 47 generates painting-out data according to the information in the internal RAM 48 and transfers this data to the output device 5 to output the character. Consequently, the character with thickness corresponding to the characteristics of the specific output device can be outputted and the character quality is improved.

    • PURPOSE:To shorten the collation time in a draft mode and to enhance workability and operability, by printing a character already converted to dot data and having a size different from that of a preliminarily printed and indicated character within the frame of a frame figure showing the size of said indicated character. CONSTITUTION:When a manuscript is collated in a word processor, printing quality is not regarded as important so much and, therefore, it is desired to shorten a printing time. Therefore, the data of a frame showing the size of a character to be printed is inputted to a bit map memory 9 at first and the data of a character having a size different front that of the character already developed as dot data to be stored in a font cash memory 8 is subsequently transmitted to the bit map memory 9. A microprocessor 2 sends the printing data stored in the bit map memory 9 to a printer 10 through a printer interface 11 to print said frame and character. By this method, the manuscript can be collated without waiting until a character having an indicated size is printed.
