    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of performing voice recognition by improving voice section detection accuracy, even in an environment in which noise level fluctuates rapidly. SOLUTION: This system has a first filtering means (2) for reducing noise component, with attention given thereto from an input signal (1), a second filtering means (3) for extracting the noise component with attention given thereto from the input signal, and a voice section detecting means (7) for detecting the voice section of the input signal, on the basis of outputs of the both filtering means. The voice section detecting means detects the voice section by comparing first signal information obtained, on the basis of the output of the first filtering means with a threshold, and a recognizing means (15) performs voice recognition in the voice section. The voice section detecting means can change a threshold for voice section detection by making the threshold follow change of a noise environment because the voice section detecting means changes the threshold according to the fluctuation of second signal information obtained, on the basis of the output of the second filtering means.

    • PURPOSE:To recognize voice while coping with the varying conditions of a user's uttering and the changes in the user by controlling a collating means or a discriminating means based on the detection results of the changes in the uttering conditions and the changes in the user. CONSTITUTION:Voices, that are inputted and digitized through an input means 1, are acoustically analyzed for every constant time interval by a first analysis means 2 and the result of the analysis is outputted in a form which is suitable to a collating means 4. The means 4 performs collation between time sequential patterns and a standard pattern and outputs the score against each standard pattern. The score outputted from the means 4 is inputted to a discrimination means 5 and a candidate corresponding to a best scored standard pattern or plural higher ranking candidates are outputted as recognition results. A second analysis means 3 analyzes voices inputted through the means 1, extracts the changes in uttering conditions and the changes in uttering speeds, outputs these information and controls the means 4 and 5 based on the outputs.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the recognition performance in noisy environment even when a large vocabulary are registered by using all recognized object vocabulary which are previously recognized as objects of recognition in less noisy environment, and excluding some of the recognized vocabulary which are previously registered from objects of recognition and performing recognition in the noisy environment. CONSTITUTION:This device and method are equipped with a speech input part 101, an A/D conversion part 102 which quantizes an input speech obtained by the speech input part 101, an analysis part 103 which obtains feature components of the input speech, a standard pattern storage part 104 for feature vectors of the previously registered recognized object vocabulary a collation part 105 which recognizes the input speech by obtaining the similarity degree between the feature vectors and the feature vectors obtained by the analysis part 103, a noise state detection part 106, and a recognized object vocabulary limiting part 107 which makes the number of the recognized object vocabulary to be collated by the collation part 105 less than the number of the previously registered recognized object vocabulary. The recognized vocabulary limiting part 107 limits the recognized object vocabulary corresponding to the noise state detected by the noise detection part 106.

    • PURPOSE:To set frequency that backup is executed in accordance with the significance of files, to set a backup processing to be efficient and to reduce a load. CONSTITUTION:A client 10, a server 20 and a file server for backup 30 are connected through a communication network 40. A file management table 200 exists on the memory 21 of the server 20. Update counters recording the number of the update times of the files and the prescribed number of update times for executing backup in accordance with the significance of the files are set for the respective files in the file management table 200. The server 20 once stores input data from the client 10 in the management table 200 as latest information and stores in an external storage device 50. At that time, the update counter is updated, and the server 20 transmits the backup of the file to the server 30 when the number of update times coincides with the prescribed number of update times.

    • PURPOSE:To offer the voice recognition system which is suitable for the retrieval of a desired map. CONSTITUTION:An input voice is passed through a voice input part 501 and converted by a voice analytic part 502 into a time series of feature information, which is sent to a collation part 504 through an input pattern buffer 503 and collated with a standard patterns representing respective groups in a standard pattern memory 506. When the respective groups are selected, a control part 508 takes the groups out of an external memory 507 according to the information from a navigation main body 509. As a result of the collation, a decision part 505 selects one or plural groups similar to the input voice and a control part 508 takes standard patterns of words belonging to the selected groups out of an external memory 507 and sends them to the standard pattern memory 506; and the collation part 504 collates the input voice with the standard patterns and the decision part 505 decides and outputs the input voice. A standard pattern conversion part 510 is provided for the size reduction and economization of the memories 506 and 507. Consequently, the high-accuracy, economic voice recognition system which reduces the frequency of voicing as much as possible is realized.
