    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control data based on the consumption of consumables by simple constitution by storing it in a non-volatile ferroelectric memory (FRAM). SOLUTION: The data based on the consumption of the consmables is stored in the FRAM 2 and the power source terminal of the FRAM 2 is connected to a power source 1. When the power source 1 is turned on, electric power is supplied to the power source terminal of the FRAM 2 from the power source 1 so that the data can be written and held. When the power source 1 is turned off, the data cannot be written because the electric power is not supplied to the power source terminal of the FRAM 2 from the power source 1. However, the data itself based on the consumption of the consumables and written in the FRAM 2 is held even when an auxiliary power source is not arranged because of the characteristic of the FRAM 2. Thus, the data based on the consumption of the consumables is controlled by the simple constitution without requiring the replacement of a battery and arranging a mechanism accompanying the storage element structure of the auxiliary power source, a data transfer mechanism and the like.

    • PURPOSE: To make stable alignment of paper sheets which involves less probability of jam occurrence and free from risk of damage caused by collision of sheets by truing up side edge of sheets after two sheets have completely passed the branch point of a transport path, and setting distance between the transport branch point and sheet-side-edge truing-up roller at least to a value greater than the max. length of the sheets in use. CONSTITUTION: One of two cut segments of a sheet of paper is branched to the lower transport path while fed by a straight transport roller 1 and is fed to straght transport rollers 2, 3, 4. The other sheet segment is fed by straight transport rollers 1, 6, and when its trailing edge has completely passed the branch point F of the transport path, the sheet bites into the first width feed roller 7, and width feed adjustment is made toward the under situated sheet. The sheet with the width feed commenced by the first width feed roller 7 is subjected to further shift in the width direction by the second width feed roller 8. In this manner the truing-up of side edge of the sheets is completed before the converging point of the transport path, and at this points, the two sheet segments are put one over another in alignment and are delivered together by another straight transport roller 5.
