    • PURPOSE:To provide an information reader such as a bar code reader, etc., in which light receiving quantity distribution of a light receiving element can be improved so as to be uniformalized and a reading error can be reduced. CONSTITUTION:A bar code 2 is irradiated with light from the light source 1 of a thin film EL element, and the optical path of reflected light from the bar code 2 is changed by a mirror 3, and it is converged on a lens 4, and is received by the light receiving element 5 such as a charge storage element (CCD), and it is converted to an electrical signal, then, information stored in the bar code is read by a decoder circuit. The thin film EL element is as follows. (1) An EL element whose surface confronting with an information display medium is formed in a curved surface with the center formed in recessed shape. (2) An EL element in which the film thickness of an EL element light emitting layer is thickened at both terminal parts of the element. (3) An EL element whose EL element light emitting surface is widened at both terminal parts of the element. (4) An EL element letting EL element light emitting surface be plural number and in which the total area of the light emitting surface is formed larger than a middle part at both terminal parts of the element. (5) An EL element in which lets the density of light emission center included in the EL element light emitting layer be different values at the middle part and both terminal parts of the element.

    • PURPOSE: To improve heat transfer efficiency by attaching a copper porous body or a copper alloy porous body to the main body of a conductive metal integrally. CONSTITUTION: The sintered body of a metal is constituted of a three-dimensional reticulated structure while said sintered body is attached to the surface of a metallic plate having the same material or inserted between metallic plates or attached to the inside and outside of a metallic pipe integrally to sinter them. In this case, the three-dimensional reticulated structural body, to which copper powder, copper oxide powder or metallic powder containing copper or copper oxide is attached in gas phase, is inserted into and engaged with the inner surface of a metallic copper tube 3, to which copper powder, copper oxide powder or metallic powder containing copper is attached to the inner or outer surface or both surfaces thereof, or said structural body is wound while pressing it against the outer surface of the copper tube 3 or otherewise the structural bodies are fitted and wound into and around the tube 3 simultaneously, and subsequently, sintering is effected whereby a heat conductive member having the three-dimensional reticulated structural body 4 of a metal can be manufactured. According to this method, a heat transfer efficiency can be improved.

    • PURPOSE:To drive a capacitive emitter at low d.c. power source voltage, and to reduce consumption power by connecting a drive circuit consisting of two coils and at least two switches, to an EL element, and by specifically controlling the ON/OFF operation of the switch. CONSTITUTION:A first switch means S1 is turned into ON condition from an OFF condition, and power is accumulated in a first inductor means L1, and the S1 is turned into OFF condition after a specific period of time passes, and the power of L1 is fed to and charged in a capacitive emitter EL. A process of accumulating the charged power of the emitter EL in a second inductor means L2, and a process of carrying out the same control for a second switch means S2 and for the circuit of the L2, to accumulate the charged power of the emitter EL in the L1, are also included. The two processes are repeated alternately or in partially the same time, by a controller. The power source voltage can be low, since part of the power accumulated in the emitter EL is returned to the L2, L1, and is re-used, and the power can thus be used effectively.
