SOLUTION: A guide rail 5a for guiding a front wheel roller 4a of a footstep 3 of a passenger conveyor is formed of a horizontal part approximately horizontal in a lower part machine room 1a, a straight inclined part in the inclined part between upper and lower machine rooms 1a, and a change part for smoothly connecting them, the footstep 3 of a returning way is moved while making the treated 3a face downward, a part in which one footstep 3 is moved in the flat surface including the tread 3a for a while by the positional relationship between respective rollers 4a, 4b and both guide rails 5a, 5b are formed, and a footstep cleaning device 2 is arranged on this part.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent dust from being scattered in a machine chamber or being accumulated in the middle part of the machine chamber by arranging partition plates, which are brought into contact or non-contact with a footstep, in the front and in the back of a cleaning brush in the moving direction of the footstep in addition to the cleaning brush. SOLUTION: In the moving direction of a footstep 7, partition plates 16 are arranged in the front and the back of a cleaning brush 12. When an escalator is operated upward, the footstep 7 is moved toward the left and dust adhering to the footstep 7 is removed by means of the partition plate 16 so as to be scattered backward, however, the dust is not moved backward but accumulated in a part λ between the both partition plates 16 as the cleaning brush 12 is brought into contact with the footstep 7. When the escalator is operated downward, the footstep 7 is moved toward the right and dust adhering to the foot step 7 is removed by means of the partition plate 16 so as to be scattered backward, however, the dust is not moved backward but accumulated in a part &Ogr; between the both partition plates 16 as the cleaning brush 12 is brought into contact with the footstep 7. The partition plates 16 are brought close to the footstep 7 as much as possible if they are made of nonmetallic material, while a clearance (e) is arranged between the footstep 7 and the partition plates 7 if they are made of metallic material.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which has a simple structure and performs stable cleaning for a long time, by serving a part of a structuring member of a handrail cleaning device also as a cleaning liquid supplying means which makes cleaning liquid to permeate into the cleaning tool. SOLUTION: A cleaning liquid supplying means 16 of a handrail cleaning device 3 installed on a passenger conveyer consists of an extrusion roller 17, a drum 8, and a tube 19. By rotating a pressing table lifting motor 20 of a cleaning, tool pressing means 8, the extrusion roller 17 rotates, the tube 19 arranged along a drum 18 is pressed and throttled continuously, cleaning liquid is forcibly sent from a cleaning liquid tank 10 to a cleaning liquid temporarily storing groove 22 of a pressing table 21, and cleaning liquid is permeated into a belt shaped cleaning tool 5. Thus, stable cleaning can be performed for a long time.

SOLUTION: In a moving handrail cleaning device of a passenger conveyor, the cleaning conditions are automatically set by performing detection of the moving state of a moving handrail 1 by a moving handrail speed detecting means 9 and performing renewing of a cleaning tool 5, detecting of the movement of the moving handrail, driving of a cleaning tool pressing means, and cleaning by the contact of the cleaning tool 5 to the moving handrail by a control means 11 provided with a microcomputer 11-1 in cycles. Therefore, efficient cleaning is made possible. Moreover, the whole device can be drastically miniaturized.

SOLUTION: In a moving handrail cleaning device, a pressing table 2 is divided into two of a pressing table (1) 29 and a pressing table (2) 31 and rotatably supported on respective pins 27, and a band-shaped cleaning tool 5 is pressed to the side surface of a moving handrail 1 by the generated moment (a×p) by the length among the reaction generating points of the pins 27 and the pressing tables 29, 31 by making use of pressing force to the moving handrail 1 in cleaning. When the used band-shaped cleaning tool 15 is wound, the pressing member surface is made approximately horizontal or a middle high shape by the rotation by the self weight of the pressing table by releasing of reaction.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving handrail cleaning device of a passenger conveyor having a simple and reliably intermittent operating method to reduce deterioration of the quality of the handrail belt front surface and mechanical and electrical attrition of a detecting mechanism itself, in a detecting means for the moving direction and the moving speed of a handrail. SOLUTION: In a moving handrail cleaning device, two one-way rotational clutches 22, 30 are incorporated in a shaft of a bandshaped cleaning tool renewing winding motor 21 so that respective power transmitting directions may be opposite to each other. Since one motor is shared by taking the one-way rotational clutch 22 for renewing and winding a band-shaped cleaning tool on the normal rotation side and the one-way rotational clutch 30 on the reverse rotation side as driving sources for the vertical operation of a moving direction and moving speed detecting machine 33 of a moving handrail, and also since reverse rotation stopping force of the one-way rotational clutches 22, 30 is used for braking, an inexpensive device can be formed with a simple structure.

The cleaning time at invervals of prescribed time, is shortened when the fouling degree is low, and the periodical cleaning time of the cleaning tool 8 is elongated, and the renewal frequency of the cleaning tool 8 is increased, when the fouling degree is high, corresponding to the fouling degree of the moving hand rail 2 which is variable corresponding to a number of passengers, the daily operating time, and the amount of dust in the air. Thereby the cleaning performance of the cleaning tool 8 can be improved.

At the same time, an electric motor 28 for driving the rotary shaft 26 is arranged in the box body 24. Further, a helical brush 29 is provided around the rotary shafts 26 and is projected from an opening 36 in the box body 24. In addition, sleigh-shaped guide members 34a, 34b which ride across the connecting part between the adjacent footsteps are integrally fitted into the box body 24.
