    • PURPOSE:To realize the connection of a male connector from outside, by forming an M contact plug with a free edge part of a whip antenna mounted to a portable radio unit and an antenna attachment part accepting the said free edge part. CONSTITUTION:A whip antenna 10 contains a telescopic extension and contraction part 12 and a storing part 14, and a free edge part 16 of the part 12 forms a female part of an M-type connector along with an earth part 18 with a screw in a state under which the part 16 is completely stored. The part 16 includes a cylinder electrode 20 having an opening the accept an electrode pin at the male part of the connector plus a plastic insulated part 22. The electrode 20 is connected electrically to the part 12, and the part 18 is mounted to the part 14 via a plastic insulated part 24 and contains a screw part 26 and a flange part 28. The part 14 is connected electrically to the part 12 and has a screw part 30 for connection of a lead wire at its edge part. The part 14 stores the part 16, and the male connector of an M contact plug can be connected from outside to the part 14.

    • PURPOSE:To realize the connection of a male connector from outside, by forming the free edge part of a whip antenna which is mounted to a portable radio unit in the form of a BNC contact plug and mounting the said free edge part to the base edge part of the antenna during the contraction of the antenna. CONSTITUTION:A whip antenna 10 contains a telescopic extension and contraction part 12 and a storing part 14. The free edge part 16 of the part 12 forms a female part of a BNC contact plug and consists of a cylinder electrode 20 which is substantially coaxial to a metallic outer cylinder case part 18. The electrode 20 is insulated from the part 18 via an insulated member 22 and accepts an electrode pin of the male connector. Such electrode 20 is connected electrically to the part 12, and the part 12 is connected electrically to the part 14. A screw part 28 is provided at the lower part of a flange part 26 of the part 18 to engage an inner screw part 32 of attaching and sticking member 30. The member 30 sticks the upper edge of the part 14 via an insulated member 34, and the member 30 is stuck to a casing 42 of a radio unit to ensure an external connection of a male connector of the BNC contact plug.

The location 12 is provided with different level response circuits consisting of Zener diode D4∼D6 and transistors TR-1∼TR-3. The control location 10 produces four different analog signals, transmits them to a control location 12 via the cable 14, combines output digital signals of on-off state of the TR-1∼TR3 in the level response circuits, and outputs a digital multi-state signal.

    • PURPOSE:To detect the presence of an electromagnetic wave such as an X band radar signal or K band radar signal by inserting a key signal like a pilot signal to an antenna output, and using only a signal including the key signal as the detecting signal. CONSTITUTION:A signal of the X band antenna 10 is coupled to a mixer 14 and heterodyned with a signal from a local oscillator 16 and frequency-modulated by the pilot signal. The output of the mixer 14 is fed to a common amplifier 20 via an IF amplifier 18. A K band antenna 12, mixer 22, local oscillator 24, and an IF amplifier 26 are constituted similarly. The output of the common amplifier 20 is connected to a mixer 28 receiving a signal from a local oscillator 36. The output of a band pass filter 34 is amplified by a tuning amplifier 36 and fed to a discriminator 38. The intermittent pilot signal demodulated by the discriminator 38 passes through a narrow band pass filter 40 and is given to a PLL42 via the amplifier 41.

    • PURPOSE:To display the receiving band by driving such as a buzzer driving circuit in receiving at an X band and a K band, respectively. CONSTITUTION:An X band antenna 10 is coupled to a mixer 14 and an output from the mixer 14 is connected to an IF amplifier 18. The output of a K band antenna 12 is connected similarly to a mixer 22 and an IF amplifier 18. An output of a common amplifier 20 is connected to the 2nd mixer 28. The frequency of the 2nd local oscillator 30 is swept. A discriminator 38 detects an intermittent pilot signal, which passes through a BPF 40-1 and is given to a PLL 42-1. The phase of this signal is compared with the continuous VCO output fed from a VCO 44-1 at a phase comparator 46-1. The result of comparison operates a switch 56-1 to make a buzzer driving circuit 58-1 and a lamp driving circuit 60-1 operate.

    • PURPOSE: To improve the receiving performance by providing a conductive metallic body to a diagonal position of the inside of a horn from a throat to an aperture.
      CONSTITUTION: A conductive member 18 is placed nearly at any of two diagonal lines of the aperture 16 of a horn antenna 12. The member 18 should not be placed on both the diagonal lines but provided to one of the two diagnoal lines without fail. Remarkable improvement of the antenna receiving sensitivity is recognized by providing the member 18. Moreover, the difference of sensitivity due to horizontal and vertical polarized waves is avoided. Thus, excellent receiving is attained even if the horn antenna is installed on any angular position.
