    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable accurate monitoring of a communication path state in a network.SOLUTION: A node device includes a selector unit, a transmitter unit, a decision unit and a generator unit. The selector unit selects a transmission destination of a survey frame for use for the survey of a route state from a data transmission source node device to a data transmission destination node device, from frame transfer destination node devices destined to the destination node device. The transmitter unit transmits a first survey frame to a first node device selected to be the transmission destination of the first survey frame. The decision unit decides whether the transmission of the first survey frame is successful. If the transmission of the first survey frame fails, the generator unit generates a second survey frame in which a communication failure with the first node device is recorded. The transmitter unit transmits the second survey frame to a second node device selected to be the transmission destination of the second survey frame.

    • PURPOSE:To extend character data by fast processing without using any software processing by a central processor by finding a shift quantity by an arithmetic part from the size of character data to be displayed, shifting the character data by the shift quantity in a shifter and transferring the data to a readable/ writable memory. CONSTITUTION:Character data on a bus 8 are read out of a read-only memory 3 by, for example, 32 bits in parallel according to the contents of a CG counter 6. Further, character data on a bus 9 are stored on the readable/writable memory 10 from the shifter 4 in the form of a character image according to the contents of an image memory counter 10. The arithmetic part 5 computes how shift processing is performed by the shifter 4 according to the contents of the CG counter 6 and the contents of the image memory counter 7 and sends an indication to the shifter 4. The shifter 4 shifts the character data on the bus 8 according to the shift indication to generate the character data on the bus 9. Consequently, the character data are extended fast.

CONSTITUTION:A CG 1, the shifter 3 which groups the addresses of the memory 2 to 4-bit units with b-byte (32 bits) as a unit and shifts the addresses to the arbitrary group of the memory 2 desired to be developed from the arbitrary group thereof, a control section 4 which calculates the number of shifts, a means 5 which sets the number of skips from the outside, a means 8 which sets the reading out addresses from the CG 1 and successively updates and outputs these addresses, and means 6, 7, 8 which set the addresses to develop the data and successively update and output these addresses are provided in order to develop the character data of the CG 1 stored by 4-bit bounderies to the image memory 2 which like wise develops the data by 4-bit boundaries, by which the character data are read out of the arbitrary group of the CG 1 and are shifted and developed to arbitrary group of the memory 2.
