    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for creating a reed-community vegetation base 20 enabling acceleration of growth of reeds, causing no influence on the environment and favorable for cost reduction.
      SOLUTION: The method for creating a reed-community vegetation base comprises the following process: preliminarily blocking a creation area 10(A) where the vegetation base 20 is to be created, with sandbags, steel forepoles or the like; lowering a water level down to the water depth of ≤1.5 m for example, via drainage work such as pump-up operation; dredging bottom mud 16 by a conventionally well-known method to obtain dredged soil 16; adding porous ceramic soil-improving material to the dredged soil 16 to stir them to be mixed together to produce improved dredged soil 18; banking the improved dredged soil 18 on the creation area 10(A); subjecting the banked improved dredged soil 18 to rolling compaction with a heavy industrial machine such as a bulldozer to create the vegetation base 20 having a prescribed ground level and prescribed foundation hardness; putting the water level back to its original one after creation of the vegetation base 20; and planting reeds 22 on the vegetation base 20.
