    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a predetermined shape taken in a tire shaping process using a bladder for both shaping and vulcanization until vulcanization.
      SOLUTION: An outer flexible membrane for both shaping and vulcanization is inserted in a shaping drum having an inner flexible membrane and a skeletal material layer. The tire having a toroidal shape is made by expanding the three-layered bladder comprising the inner flexible membrane, the skeletal material layer and the outer flexible membrane and enlarging its diameter. After the green tire is shaped, the outer flexible membrane is separated from the inner flexible membrane and the skeletal material layer by shrinking the inner flexible membrane and the skeletal material layer with respect to the outer flexible membrane and reducing its diameter. The green tire is transferred while the toroidal shape being kept with the outer flexible membrane closed, and the green tire is vulcanized. After vulcanization the outer flexible membrane is taken out from the inside of the tire by shrinking the outer flexible membrane and reducing its diameter.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber-coated steel cord by surely filling unvulcanized rubber by a simple treatment in the gaps at stranded parts of a plurality of wires to surely bond the unvulcanized rubber to the wires.
      SOLUTION: The rubber-coated steel cord is obtained by the following practice: A plurality of wires 12 are fed from the revolving barrel 24 of a tubular-type strander 21 and passed through an atmosphere filled with the unvulcanized rubber under pressure inside an extruder 50, and stranded at specified pitches through synchronizing the advancing speed of the wires 12 with the revolving speed of the barrel 24, thereby filling the unvulcanized rubber in the stranded parts of the plurality of wires 12. The steel cords 10 thus produced are fed together with a plurality of other wires 12 to a rubber ribbon production machine 80 where the rubber ribbons 100 are produced. The rubber ribbons 100 thus produced are directly and continuously brought into a tire production system.
