摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the optical switch which can securely make optical connections between master optical fibers and reception-side optical fibers and is small in connection loss. SOLUTION: A housing 11 is filled with a refractive index matching agent and an optical fiber array member 1, a moving stage 14, a swing arm 6, etc., are arranged; and an actuator 8 which slants the swing arm 6 is provided outside the housing 11. The optical fiber array member 1 has plural V grooves 5 and is arranged slantingly at an angle θ with the opening sides of the respective V grooves 5 down, and the connection end surfaces 15 of the reception-side optical fibers 3 are arranged and fixed in the respective V grooves 5 along the length of the grooves. The master optical fibers 4 are fixed to the moving stage 14, which is moved; and the actuator 8 is driven to slant the swing arm 6 as shown by an arrow A' and then the master optical fibers 4 are fallen in the V grooves 5 and pressed. Consequently, the master optical fibers 4 and reception-side optical fibers 3 are connected having their connection end surfaces opposite each other so that they can freely be switched.

Then when connection end surface sides of the optical fibers 5 exposed by removing the jacket on the tip side are arrayed and fixed in the respective V grooves 15, the root parts 9 of the exposed optical fibers 5 are arranged on the side of the mount base 11 at an interval L with the V groove arrangement area 14 of the optical fiber array member 1 and the interval L is used as a clearance space area 3 wherein the exposed optical fibers 5 are allowed to freely curve.

摘要： PURPOSE: To assure the flatness of an optical filter and to stably maintain gripping force over a long period of time by forming a filter supporting body which holds and supports the optical filter with a rigid plane and an elastic plane. CONSTITUTION: The filter supporting body 17 for supporting the thin sheet-like optical filter 15 to be put into and out of a slit 13 holds the upper half part of the optical filter 15 with the one plane of the half supporting body 19 consisting of a rigid flat plate made of metals, ceramics or rigid resins and the plane on the rubber plate 21 side of a composite plate 25 formed by sticking a rubber plate 21 having elasticity and a reinforcing plate 23 having rigidity and supports the optical filter 15 by tightening a screw 27. The rigid plane of the half supporting body 19 is pressed to the one surface of the optical filter 15 and the elastic plane of the rubber plate 21 is pressed to the other surface. Then, the flatness of the optical filter 15 is maintained by pressing of the rigid plane and the decrease in the gripping force by the change of the optical filter 15 with lapse of time is made up by pressing of the elastic plane.

摘要： PURPOSE:To measure insertion loss and return loss in the same measuring system by providing input and output head parts and receiving the output light of the output head part by a photodetector and providing a reflected light photodetector taking out the reflected light of an optical component through a coupler to receive the same. CONSTITUTION:The output light of a light source 1 is inputted to an optical component 2 through a coupler 8, a coupler 6, the input movable head 21-input fixed head 22-input branch part 25 of an input head part 3 and an input 8-core tape cord 27. The output light from the component 2 is outputted to an optical fiber 47 through output 8-core tape cord 29-output branch part 26-the fixed head 24 of an output head part 4-output movable head 23 to be inputted to an output photodetector 5 to measure light power. The insertion loss of the component 2 is detected on the basis of the measured value. The quantity of the reflected light of the component 2 is also measured by a reflected light photodetector 7 in the same way and return loss is detected on the basis of the measured value. By this constitution, insertion loss and return loss can be measured in the same measuring system.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store and draw many optical fibers out without any interference with other optical fibers by inserting a loop holding means into respective winding parts of looped optical fibers. SOLUTION: A storage part 3 has a drawing-out part 3a for guiding a ribbon 10 of fibers out and a recessed part 3b where an optical connector 10a fitted atop of the ribbon 10 of fibers is disposed. A partition plate 4 is a hard material which has a through hole 4a in the center of its plate surface and many partition plates 4 are arranged between a couple of side plates 2b and 2b of a storage tray 2. The partition plates 4 are arrayed at specific intervals in parallel to the side plates 2b and fixed to a bottom plate 2a. Between respective partition plates 4, loop parts 10b of ribbons 10 of fibers shrink and expand as the ribbons 10 of fibers are taken in and out. Then a shaft 5 holds the loop parts 10b and is inserted into the through holes 4a of the respective partition plates 4 through the support holes 2c and 2c of the side plates 2b and 2b of the storage tray 2 and both the end parts are fixed to the side plates 2b and 2b with screws.

The side of the master fiber 4 is provided with a pressing means 15 which presses and positions the tip end side of the master fiber 4 in the positioning groove and connects each optical fiber and the master fiber 4 together across a specific gap.

The fiber switching mechanism 17 moves the master optical fiber 7 in the array direction of the V grooves 20 to the position of the groove 20 of a specified light path 12 to be inspected in order and inserts it into its groove 20, and then connects each light path 12 to the master optical fiber 7, thereby inspecting the light path 12 by an OTDR connected to the side of the master optical fiber 7.

A position detection sensor 13 judges whether or not the swing arm 6 is at the said initial set position and when not, a master movement stop member 20 prevents the master optical fibers 4 from moving.
