    • PURPOSE:To attain economical data communication by allowing a communication controller tying a terminal equipment and a network to interrupt tentatively a line of the network side without termination of a session when no reception data comes from the network and no transmission data to the network exists thereby eliminating charging for a time without data. CONSTITUTION:A host terminal equipment sends a data string 1 to a user terminal equipment, the user terminal equipment sends a data string 2 to the host terminal equipment and when data sent/received between the host and the user terminal equipment are lost after the transmission of a data string (n), the host side communication controller detects non data state and gives an interrupt command to a host side MODEM to interrupt the line. Furthermore, the user side communication controller detects the no data state and gives a command to a user side MODEM to interrupt the line. The line interruption is noticed to each communication controller but it is not noticed from the communication controller to the host terminal and the user terminal equipment. Thus, the host terminal and the user terminal equipment do not recognize the line interrupt and the session between them is not terminated but continued.
